Hi everyone, I just wanted to start this new topic for those like myself who are interested in applying to the MEPN program for the 2020 cohort.

Our statements do need to be double spaced, but it did not specify a font so I am going to just use times new roman or arial (as long as it's legible and not some swirly/fancy-type font, i think those are safe). also make sure to write the document in Word and convert to PDF. There is also a presentation available here that looks quite useful:

Good luck!
Thank you, kmd1005!
I notice the Prezi presentation from Mr. Saenz has a slide recommending that applicants put their specialty as part of their headers - on both the personal history and goal statements.
I notice this doesn't match the directions on the online application - which just ask applicants to put their name at the top of the goal statement.
Would you (or anyone) know which one is correct? My apologies if this seems neurotic to ask, but thought it'd help others who may also be wondering.
Thanks,
Raverlane
Hi all! It's great to have found this thread!
I'll be applying to the PNP-MEPN; can't believe applications are due in less than two months!
I went to an information session last week and talked to some current MEPN students. They all emphasized "knowing your story" and nailing your personal statement!
Good luck to you all! This is such a nerve wracking process! We'll get through it :)
Hello @JWho!
I wish I had gone to that info session! Possibly could've met you, too. I think I will try to make the one on August 8th.
Thanks for the tip about the personal statement. It is definitely the part of my application I am spending the most time/effort on and feel the most anxious about.
Hi y'all, thanks for being so detailed in the application process! I'm about to start mine and this is super helpful when walking through it. I'm barely making the cut off of all pre-req's save for 2 by December 15 so it convinced me I should apply. Coming from Seattle, it would be a dream to stay on the west coast where it seems these programs are hard to come by.

Good luck!!!!!! Are you applying for the Psych specialty? As in your username?
@Marin520 I'm in the same boat; I feel nervous also!
@ilee6 @Haron717 I might be attending the UCSF info session on the 8th! USF has an info session the same day for their Masters program from 4-5. UCSF is definitely my top choice but also wanted to check out back up options.
Is anyone applying to other schools?
@Anisap haven't finished the personal history statement yet.
Sergio sent me a Goal Statement tool that clearly outlines the differences btwn the Goal vs. Personal History Statement. I'll ask if I can share that with the group!
