UCSF MEPN 2016

Hello!

I know this is a bit early, but I'm planning to apply to the apply to the UCSF MEPN program (among a few others) this summer/fall. I've seen similar forums for past application periods, and thought it might be nice to get one started so we can start to bounce ideas and questions off each other.

Has anyone been to an open house? Any information worth sharing?

application status hadn't been updated when i checked a few hours ago, but I'm also having trouble with the website now.

I can get into the website, and nothing has changed under the Status tab. Same as this morning.

Snail mail, really? That is very old-fashioned. Every other school I've applied to and heard back from has sent notifications via email.

I agree.

I'm also a bit frustrated because people who live closer will hear sooner. Doesn't really seem fair, and since I'm pretty far away I believe it means I'll have a longer wait than I was anticipating (and also IF i get an interview, the longer it takes to find out the more expensive the plane ticket will be)

That's tough, and frustrating for people who live out of state. I live in the Bay Area, so I will post as soon as I get my letter (Saturday, I'm guessing) just to let everyone else know that theirs really is on the way.

Ugh! I was so terrified/excited to check my email and instead I get an update on here telling me it's sent snail mail... I live in Austin TX so I won't be getting it until next week my birthday is on Weds next week, so I hope its a wonderful bday surprise and not a crushing one!

Hello

I just called the admissions office and the lady I talked to told me it would be sent via email.

She said it should be at the end of this week, but I let her know that it was already Thursday. So she said yep either today or tomorrow..

But I dont know what to believe anymore... hoping email is correct!!!!!

Ahh the wait is killing me :/

Hello, everyone.

First of all, I just wanted to echo the sentiment that everyone should give themselves a pat on the back for getting this far in the process. Whatever the outcome, I am confident that everyone will end up in a great program. I'm living proof that there are many roads to get where you are going. I started out life as a college teacher and will hopefully finish as a college teacher as well (but of nursing). That being said, I hope that I will end up with some of you as my classmates wherever we end up!

As for the news about the snail mail postings, I would only say that there is a remote possibility that UCSF will email its candidates in addition to sending out the formal mail. Some programs have done this in the past. So, don't be surprised if we do end up getting an email at the end of today or tomorrow. And if it doesn't come, we'll know by the end of next week.

Right?! I can't take it. I'm compulsively checking my email every few minutes. My heart is beating out of my chest just thinking about it. Oh admissions... Do you understand the pain we are all in?!

The worst is that I get a new email every time someone posts here! So I check my email, briefly see an unread message with "UCSF" in the title and have a mini heart attack, but it's always this thread!! Fingers crossed it comes soon, or else I think we might be waiting until tomorrow...
