2014 UCSF MEPN Applicants

Hey everyone! Given that applications are due a month from today, I figured it was about time to start a thread. How are everyone's personal statements and applications coming?

I have the same status update, too. I wish it included transcript status as well. :)What other schools are you guys applying to? I'll be applying for Columbia and UPenn. Btw, I received an email today from UPenn about an info session in San Francisco on October 11th. I registered for the session. Anyone else going?

Hi gudbee! I haven't decided yet which other schools I'll be applying to just yet. Still thinkin' about it. But I checked the UPenn site for the info sessions and there isn't anything listed for the SF Bay Area yet. Did the email you receive come with a link for the session on Oct. 11th? I might be interested in attending too. If I sign up, i'll try connecting with you! :)

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share that I was just randomly logging into the application site to see if there are any updates on the page that previously showed "under review" after I locked my application. It now shows a status update for my GRE scores and recommendation letters, all of which were received by their office. Is anyone else showing something different on their page? And now, the long agonizing wait begins, Lol! :)

Mine also shows this- anyone know how we will receive confirmation that our transcripts have been received? Does anyone's review page include their transcripts?

Mine does not include transcripts. Has anyone contacted the school to confirm receipt of their transcripts?

Btw, is it just me or is this year's thread really quiet? Maybe there are fewer applicants this year.

Does seem to be a quiet thread...most people I've found to be lurkers! I'm enrolled for the UPenn event in SF myself. Also looking at Columbia, Duke, MGH, Yale, Johns Hopkins. They all seem like reach schools to me, so I'd be so grateful to get into any one of them!

No transcripts on my page either, though I included unofficial versions on my app.. I'm sure they'll let everyone know if/when they find something that needs to be sent over! My letters were sent to S***** from Interfolio, so those I know will have to be entered manually somehow. As of today, neither my GRE scores nor my letters are shown as received.

Mine still doesn't show transcripts either. But I did email the office before the deadline and was told all my transcripts were received. So maybe it's just not reflected on the site. They're really good about responding to emails so I don't think it would hurt to check. As for the quiet thread...although I do think there are less applicants, I still think there are just a bunch of lurkers. I have to admit, I was one of them about 6 months ago, Lol! If you scroll to the bottom of this thread under "online readers," it shows guests and members who are currently viewing the thread, Lol! :) I'm sure they'll surface when they're ready. I personally was a bit intimidated when I signed on. But the more I read about others like us, the more I realized that we're all in the same boat and I love the support system this site provides. Thanks guys for being positive! - you make the long wait so much less agonizing! :)

Hi everyone, I emailed Steven at UCSF to ask about my transcripts and he confirmed that they were all received. Helps to have the peace of mind in case anyone else was worried about theirs, absolutely doesn't hurt to email him and ask :)

Former lurker here! Just wanted to join the conversation as I have also recently applied to the MEPN program for FNP. I'm based in the Bay Area, and I'm also planning to attend the Penn Info session in SF on 10/11. It sounds like several of you will be there, too, so I look forward to meeting you!

Another former lurker here, finally joining the conversation! :)

I applied to the PNP specialty for MEPN and I'm also applying to a lot of the schools that people have already mentioned (Penn, Columbia, Yale, Hopkins, etc). I probably won't be able to make it to the info sessions, so I'd love to hear what anybody who goes would like to share! :up:

While we're all waiting to hear back from UCSF, I thought I'd share my notes. To help me plan for my work schedule and vacation, I looked through the previous MEPN threads to determine approximate notification and interview dates.
