UCSD New Grad Program - August 2013 Postings

Hey everyone! Has anyone applied for the recent postings for New Grad positions at UCSD? I haven't seen much conversation on here about new grad positions so I thought I'd start this one. I applied for Hem/Onc, IMU, and PCU. I'll post on here if I hear anything! Best of luck to those that applied.

Anyone know if it means anything if the status changes from application received to application processed? Not holding much hope for UCSD, but its the first status change I have had.

For which units? Did it change from to "referred to hiring department" first?

It was for the Hillcrest 11 PCU. I don't think it ever said "referred to hiring department."

Hm I haven't heard of that one yet, so I'm not sure what it means. From previous forums it looks like there is just application received, referred to hiring dept, and then under consideration.

At the "How to Get Hired" workshop, I'm pretty sure they said that if your application says "processed" it means that they're probably looking at internals for the position. Another possibility is that your qualifications/application may not have met the minimum requirements to be passed on to hiring managers :/

Thanks. Yeah thats what I figured. I heard it is extremely hard to get hired with UCSD so I was more applying to apply and just see what happens. Hopefully Scripps or Sharp will come through. Im just happy im working now or else I would be going crazy. These application processes are so stressful and I can't wait till its all over!!

Interviews for PCU were last week (Wed/Thur), and candidates were chosen this week.

That was the timeline I was given when I interviewed. I received an e-mail last week saying that they have chosen another candidate. I believe they're hiring 2 new grads onto the unit.

My status for Thornton med/surg says forwarded to hiring dept 9/16, but I haven't heard anything... has anyone else?
