UCSD New Grad Program - August 2013 Postings

U.S.A. California

Hey everyone! Has anyone applied for the recent postings for New Grad positions at UCSD? I haven't seen much conversation on here about new grad positions so I thought I'd start this one. I applied for Hem/Onc, IMU, and PCU. I'll post on here if I hear anything! Best of luck to those that applied.

I applied to the BMT/Onc unit and it said referred to hiring department for the longest time. I finally got a call this morning for an interview on Friday. I've been applying for almost a year now and this is the most contact I've gotten from UCSD. I did a preceptorship in the Moore's Cancer Center/BMT unit. Does anyone know what their interviews are like? Large panels? med questions? scenarios?

How did your interview go?

Anyone heard back from the NICU/FMCC program? I have an interview on 12/4. So excited!!

Hi pem17, How did your interview go?

Hi pem17 How did your interview go?[/quote']

I think it went well!! I really enjoyed talking to the managers and touring the unit. Seems like a great place to work. Now fingers crossed that it all works out!!

Anyone else out there interview in the NICU?

I had my interview for NICU on Monday :) Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to do the touring the unit. I wonder if they offered the touring to specific people. I got the reference request the day after my interview, Tuesday, and now I am waiting for the final decision. Anyone who had interview with NICU has any updates? Good luck to all of us!

Hi pem17, that's great your interview went well! How many people (who) did you have in your panel? Did you get to ask them by any chance how many people are interviewed for how many positions? Do you know when the final decision will be made by? I think I was the first one to be interviewed. I am very excited about this opportunity! Hope we hear good news soon!

Congrats to you guys who have interviewed!!! I'm trying to get into the ICU unit as a new grad and my status says "Application Processed". Does anyone know what that means? It's been like that for 2 weeks now. The others either say "Application Received" or "Others More Competitive." It's killing me as I want it SO much! I have been trying to get into an ICU unit ever since I graduated. Anything would help. Thanks in advance.

I interview this morning for their BMT/Onc unit. I feel like it went really well but I've felt that way about interviews before that I didn't get an offer out of. It was with the unit manager and assistant manager and they mostly asked me about the details on my resume and why I chose that unit. The rest of the questions were follows ups and it wasn't as formal as I was expecting. Fingers crossed!

Hi kid_cutieRN!

I heard they are hiring 10 people (including both new grads and experienced RN) for NICU/FMCC. I don't know how many people they are interviewing. Hope we will hear back from them soon. When was your interview? I heard they will get back to us by next Friday. The wait is almost painful!

My interview was last week on wed (dec 4). The interviewers were very nice and made me feel so comfortable. THey didnt really give me a time on how long they will take to get back so im just waiting. I hope I get it. Im really banking on this as I have been trying to get into a NICU position for 10 months now. good luck to you and thank you for any information. Please let me know how things go.
