  1. I know this is a little late but I'll be taking my BMTCN exam in a couple of months. I'm not quite sure how to study since there is no class or test prep book. Did those tests help you? Any book you used specificially? Thank You in advance!
  2. They called me to set up an interview the first week of January. As far as I know my status went from "referred to hiring department" to "Interview scheduled" to "pending decision" to being hired. My status said referred for about 2 1/2 weeks. Other than the phone call to schedule the actual interview it's been all emailing.
  3. I was told that I was "one of their top two candidates" for the position on the bmt/onc unit. I'm assuming there is only one position and it is between me and another nurse. They had me send in some documents and are doing a reference check. They said it could take 2-3 weeks to find out. All this waiting is driving me crazy! Good luck to everyone else still waiting for an answer!
  4. I interview this morning for their BMT/Onc unit. I feel like it went really well but I've felt that way about interviews before that I didn't get an offer out of. It was with the unit manager and assistant manager and they mostly asked me about the details on my resume and why I chose that unit. The rest of the questions were follows ups and it wasn't as formal as I was expecting. Fingers crossed!
  5. I applied to the BMT/Onc unit and it said referred to hiring department for the longest time. I finally got a call this morning for an interview on Friday. I've been applying for almost a year now and this is the most contact I've gotten from UCSD. I did a preceptorship in the Moore's Cancer Center/BMT unit. Does anyone know what their interviews are like? Large panels? med questions? scenarios?
  6. It's really first come first serve. They take the most qualified first and go from there but they go through them in the order they're received. But I'm sure that just because you are one of the first ones doesn't mean you'll automatically get an interview. I know they look for a BSN, volunteer work and some kind of a position in a healthcare setting as priorities.
  7. I only knew where I stood because I know a nurse recruiter at Scripps that took a look for me. They accept the first 500 applications but really only interview the first 50 so the sooner you get it in the better your chances!!
  8. I just received an email this morning with my interview date. I had my application submitted by 8:25 and I was the 15th person. I've never typed so fast in my life. This is my first interview since graduating in December, does anybody have any tips for the types of interview questions they ask?
