UCSD New Grad Program Summer 2013

Published

Hello,

I recently applied for UCSD new grad summer 2013, and heard that they received over 900 applicants. I am unaware of the process of interviewing and application process, does any one have an idea? Have any one get a phone call? all I see is that my application were sent to hiring department. Waiting seem to be forever!!

Thanks

Hello everyone. I also applied for the UCSD new grad for summer (July start).. I applied for CCU and PCU last May 12 (application period was May 6-12) then later to Telemetry (Last Friday). I called the nurse recruiter office from the number posted in the new grad RN FAQ page and I was told that: if you applied between May 6 to May 12 and the Status is shown as: Application Received, this means that you were NOT selected for an interview, and will be getting an email (rejection) sometime around next week. However if you applied the recent openings (Telemetry, L&D, Perinatal NICU), they are currently reviewing the applications received for this week. Both the PCU and CCU I applied last May 12 shows "Application Received" meaning I was NOT selected for an interview..

Thanks cheezyguy for the info.

Yes, this is true about the selection process for the CCU,PCU, and ICU surgical. I was only selected for the ICU surgical. My status says "Underconsideration". I called the floor and got the assistant manger and she forwarded my call to the manger. The manger pulled up my info and explained to me how things work. She was really nice as well. There are two groups A and B. The A group goes first. Those are the people who stay in the area and meet the qualifications. Then if they don't find enough from the A group to fill the position. Then they will interview from the B group. She gave me her direct line to call her back on to see if they found and filled the position. If not then the B group will be called.

Hey @ladybug75 did your status say "Referred to Hiring Department," prior to "Under Consideration?" I just wonder how many of us have been referred or are under consideration..

Yes my status said "Referred to Hiring Department" first. Then it changed to "Under Consideration". The manger is doing the interviews at the end of this month. Then the B group will be interviewed next if spots are still open. That's what the Manger told me today.

The manger also said that 56 files were forwarded to their department and out of the 56 they have tossed a lot and have ended up with A and B group.

Thanks for the info @ladybug75

I applied a couple of days ago. Today I received an email with several questions that I need to complete and send back. Anybody else get this?

Well that is exciting! What unit did you apply to?

Knurse what unit did you apply for?
