UCLA New Grad RN 2013

Published

Hello to all prospective UCLA Nurses!

My name is Matthew and I'm a CSU Long Beach alumnus.

I'm currently working as a Super User RN for the UCLA Health System.

I hope this thread will be able to answer our questions about the application, interview process and a place for any updates anyone receives for the 2013 new grad program.

With that said, I was told by recruitment that applications will be made available in March. :)

Any news at all for those without status changes yet? Do we have any hope if our application still says Online Assessment Completed?

Wow, thanks for the info re: the interviews. Acting sounds horrible, but thanks for the heads up!

Anyone have any incite on Peds? Does anyone have their interview this week?

My first choice was surgical floors. My status has not changed and no email for interviews yet. Hoping for an answer for a little longer!

I can see how UCLA may be hard on their nurses compared to other hospitals but the way I see it, they're making a HUGE investment on new grads. I'm planning to stay on any position I'm hired for as long as I can because in this economy, any acute care position is gold in Socal!

if it's of any hope, when i called HR this past Friday, they said that as long as you haven't gotten a rejection email, then you're still in the running and that they were still processing apps/ scheduling interviews. in fact, my friend got scheduled over the weekend. so, keep hope alive, all.

Has anyone been rejected?

Does anyone know if they're still going to schedule interviews this week? My status hasn't changed and I'm losing hope. I did my immersion/preceptorship on the Liver ICU and put it as my first choice :( but haven't heard anything.

Congrats to those who got interviews!!! And from what I've heard I believe its 10 spots per ICU.

Hey Social529,

The email i received says Interviews will be conducted this week and next week.. and as long as you have not received a rejection email by now , you are still may be in the running... thats what a recruiter told me. So have some hope ..I'm interviewing with liver icu this week btw

Thank you so much! and GOOD LUCK!! :D

That unit is wonderful, I've never seen so much team work between the nurses and MDs, the staff is great and so is the management!

Did you guys notice that when you check your status, withdraw application is no longer an option? Does that mean we aren't being considered they just haven't gotten around to telling us yet?

Yeah...i think so. it says jobs that do not display "withdraw application" are no longer open. so i think if you haven't heard by now, you probably aren't being considered. :/

I called HR today they said that they will be contacting people for the next 2 to 4 weeks for interviews. She reiterated multiple times to not lose hope until you receive a rejection email.

Yeah...i think so. it says jobs that do not display "withdraw application" are no longer open. so i think if you haven't heard by now, you probably aren't being considered. :/
