UCLA New Grad RN 2013

Published

Hello to all prospective UCLA Nurses!

My name is Matthew and I'm a CSU Long Beach alumnus.

I'm currently working as a Super User RN for the UCLA Health System.

I hope this thread will be able to answer our questions about the application, interview process and a place for any updates anyone receives for the 2013 new grad program.

With that said, I was told by recruitment that applications will be made available in March. :)

I called HR today they said that they will be contacting people for the next 2 to 4 weeks for interviews. She reiterated multiple times to not lose hope until you receive a rejection email.

Thank you for posting this. This gives me hope that maybe, just maybe, I get a call for an interview. Thank you for the info. Everyone remain HOPEFUL!!!!

Congrats lakergurl08 on your interview! I have mine for NICU as well next week and I'm super nervous! I know the interview process is probably different for each department, but for NICU does anyone know if after the first interview we'll have to have a second or third interview? And does anyone else know if the interview will consist of a panel so we have multiple people interviewing one person, or will it be one interviewer interviewing a group of us? When I selected my interview time, there were 3 one-hour slots. So if there are 3 interviewees per hour, does that mean there will be a total of 9 people? Thanks and good luck to everyone!

I know! I really want to know, but I'll find out tomorrow. By the email, it seems like 1 person - the unit director. Kind of nervous, but excited. I love the NICU.

And Congrats on getting an interview too!

I have an interview in the PICU on wednesday, does anyone know the type of questions they ask??

Out of curiosity, has anyone's status say Routed to interviewing Supervisor but has not heard anything back?? I called HR and they said they are still scheduling interviews?

Good luck to everyone who's interviewing this week!!!

Sorry to everybody trying to PM me about my phone interview situation, I don't post enough on here to be able to use the system -

They have yet to approve it and my interview is scheduled for tomorrow :(

If you want - you can PM me your e-mail addresses and I'll update you more.

Hey. Just got back from my interview. There were a lot of people for the different units. You get a paper and have to answer two questions. Pretty easy - abt leadership and something you learned in nursing school.

The managers call you back and you follow them to the room. She asked questions specific to my resume and the answers to the questions. Otherwise, basic tell me a time specifically with nicu since I did my preceptorship there.

She said she has more interviews and then she'll let HR know which candidates she wants to hire. She was really nice and attentive.

Did the interview seemed rushed at all? Any behavioral questions? Thanks for the update - you're calming a lot of nerves :roflmao:

No. It didn't feel rushed to me. I was the first called back and it ended up being 40 minutes long...whoops! She didnt have a paper she was going off of like in other interviews I experienced. The questions flowed into one another and kind of piggy backed off of your answers.

That's a good sign then I think - it means she was really interested in you if she was piggy backing questions! So overall you would say it was a low-stress experience right?
