Thanks for the info. I didn't receive any information regarding the first phone interview... but I just listened to my voice mail today and the UCLA nurse recruiter said that I've been scheduled for an interview for April 14. But then again, I'm wondering why I never got an email or a phone call about any behavioral interviews.

so you didn't have to do the phone interview, and the references? just straight up in person interview? that's cool.

Yes, so now I am wondering if they made a mistake in calling me. I know that I'm in the "waitlist" because I got an email about it awhile back. I missed the nurse recruiter's call today so I was worried I'm getting a phone interview or something but the only message she left was about a scheduled interview for the 14th...

what about the "references?" did they call about that too?

No she wouldn't really tell me. She said it's a "full day" of interviews and there were 7 ppl interviewing so far. Are you from LA?

No, I am far from LA and hoping there is more than one opening!!

I'm interviewing for neurosurgery.... and I am so nervous!!!!!

hmm..this is very interesting. you guys should call them back and ask them or just schedule it, why not go for it?

I'm so glad I discovered this forum, it has been so helpful through this process. Good luck to everyone still waiting to get calls!

I have a sort of unrelated question. I just booked my flight... and now I just don't know where to stay in LA. My aunt lives in manhattan beach, is it a really long drive from there to ucla?

I haven't even really confirmed that I'm staying with her yet though, I might just get a hotel by UCLA.

Is it crazy to get a cab from manhattan beach? or bus? What are the cheapest hotels by UCLA? the ones the recruiter gave me were absolutely crazy expensive. :(

The drive from Manhattan Beach to UCLA I'd about 35 min without traffic. I think it's alot cheaper to stay with your Aunt then to get a hotel and plus you get to hang out with your Aunt :) I live in Playa Del Rey which is 10 min from Manhattan Beach. Hope this helps.

Hello Fellow New Grad Nurses!

I just want to share my experience so far. I did apply in the moning of the first day. Heard and got nothing till 3/28 that I was put on waitlist. Thus, I assumed it was a polite way to say that I am rejected. On 4/4 monday, nurse recruiter called and told me that I can have an interview on 4/11 for Neuro ICU. She also told and explained to me that I need to finish the phone interview and skillsurvey this week.

From what I observed and experienced, as one of the winter program accepted person said, there's no reason to get frustrated for not getting any contact or receiving waitlist notification because untill they conclude and finish up hiring process, they are still under process of reviewing from both initially contacted and waitlisted applicants.

Just FYI, I have an ADN, already graduated and passed NCLEX.
