Yes, I am interviewing for Oncology on Tuesday. I don't know anything about it actually. I interviewed last year for CT ICU and it wasn't bad at all. It seems that they change the process a little bit every year of hiring new grads.
Hi nursestudent2011-
How did you think your interview went? I interviewed for SM so I am not sure if you were also interviewing for that hospital or RR. I thought it went well and the UD told me a lot about the unit, program and what to expect. Did you have the same experience? There are about 3 or 4 positions open and should hear back in a few weeks.
I interviewed for RR. I think the interview went well. He didn't really tell me much about the unit. We just went over my resume and asked me why I wanted to be a nurse. Then he told me that he will be taking 5-6 and how the unit has high acuity patients. Overall, It was a very brief and basic interview. He kept asking me if I had any questions and I asked him about the MAPS program and explained how important the program was for the 2011 patient safety goals. At the end, he asked me if I had any other comments or questions. I talked a little bit about my nursing philosophy, some nursing issues and my strengths and weaknesses. I'm not sure if the UD was trying to be tricky by persisting on asking me if I have any other comments or questions instead of asking me questions lol. If I didn't add more comments I thnk the interview would only take 10 minutes.

I think 10 people were interviewed for that department, which seems low to me based on the responses from others. I'm so glad the wait is over and looking forward for the interview. I was so anxious and scared this past weekend. Its like I have PTSD. I kept thinking about the interview and nightmares. I kept thinking I shoulda coulda said something extra. Good luck to all!! Have faith and dont lose hope.
