Does anybody know how many applicants UCLA received for this Winter 2012 Residency Program?

Does every unit have a second interview round after the 1 on 1?

Hello, what is the probability of getting in if you get the second interview? I heard from the last cohort that they may still reject you after the second interview.

Did you get a second interview MrNurse2011?

Hi Everyone,

I interviewed on Thursday for Pediatrics. My interviewer said a decision would be made in three weeks and also I asked if this interview was a first round and if there would be a second, and she said, "No, this is it."

Good luck to everyone!

Hi Audster,

Did you interview for SM or RR pediatrics? I interviewed for the RR Pediatric position. I wish I had more time with the interviewer. I had so much more to say! I hope we both hear good news! Good luck! :D

Hello UCLA PEDS,

I interviewed for peds at RR. I'm excited and hope we both hear good news. It would have been nice to have more time. I had lots more to say as well.

Good luck to you too!

I think we interviewed for the same ICU RN Mom. From what I have read in this thread and in talking to friends that interviewed for different ICUs than me, there seems to be only one ICU Unit Director that told people during the first interview to contact her to arrange a second interview.

Good luck to you and everyone else!

Yes @nursedrone I think you are right. Well I must say its kind of nice knowing!

Good luck to you as well!!! I hope we both get in!!!

Hello, what is the probability of getting in if you get the second interview? I heard from the last cohort that they may still reject you after the second interview.

It seems as though every department is different. Some departments are only using the first round of interviews to choose, others are asking for more interviews. And yes, you are right. I did read candidates who went for a second interview only to be turned down later. I wish the process was more streamlined but it seems like its based on each individual unit.

Good luck to you and everyone else!!!

For everyone who has had interviews, did you send a thank you card or just an email or anything at all?? I'm at a loss because I'm not sure how reliable snail mail is in a huge hospital! But an email does not seem quite as professional. Thoughts??

Hey SNjacks,

After my interview on the 15th, i was thinking of bringing a few thank cards with me (i don't know how many people will interview me), writing a message on it right after my interview is over, and then giving it to the receptionist and asking them what the best way to give them the card. i figure the card will get to the interviewer faster that way

I was given the name of the person who would be interviewing me so I prepared a thank you card the night before and handed it to her when the interview was done.

I sent the unit director a thank you email.
