UCLA New Grad Residency Winter 2017

Published

Hi Everyone!

UCLA's application for their new grad residency program opened today so I thought I'd make a forum where we could all chat & support each other through the stressful process. Good luck to everyone who applies!

STAFF UPDATE

Tell us about UCLA by visiting University of California (UCLA) School of Nursing | Peer Reviews.

Did you interview for PICU? I had my interview on Friday as well, but was not invited for a hospital tour or a second interview at the end of my interview. Was just wondering if I still had a chance, I know some hospitals group together the first and second interview if you are out of state.

Hi Unbreakable. I was there as well for the PICU interview last Friday. I don't believe they conducted second interviews that day, so I wouldn't worry. Their list was in front of them, and they said they had a whole day of interviewing. How was your experience?

Has anyone else interviewed with Cardiothoracic ICU and heard about a 2nd interview? I have only been contacted about references.

Anyone interviewed with Transplant ICU yet? Curious as to how it is!

Specializes in SICU; CTICU; ICU float.

Thanks for updating guys

Hey how was the CTICU interview? I heard it was quick. When you wrapped it up did she say anything about what you were looking for long time or in a preceptor? Or how many people they are looking for? Thanks for the input

Thank you RaqLove! I was mentally prepared for a quick screening interview, but still thought that the interview itself was very fast. By the time I felt like I could build a bond with the managers, the interview was over. I felt like the managers were really drilling for ICU experience which caught me a little off guard, but I hope that they liked my answers overall.

How was your experience? Did they tell you when to expect a response?

Does anyone know if a reference email means that you will be hired, assuming nothing goes wrong with your references?

Just curious, how many references do they require?

Has anyone interviewed for OR yet? I have mine's next week

I think all the interviews for the OR are on the same day, Monday the 28th. I have mine then too.

Hi Unbreakable:

I had the same experience. I sure wish I asked them what the next step in the process is. I assumed there would be a second interview. Did they give you any idea?
