UCLA New Grad Residency Program Winter 2019

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to start a thread for people who applied to UCLA's new grad nurse residency program! Lets keep each other updated!

Specializes in Ortho/Trauma/Plastics.
Wow, thanks for the deets! Just to clarify, ALL units are going to give offers on the same date which is 1/31? Or is that just for your unit? Sorry to be a pest.

Not a pest at all! I think what they're trying to say is by January 31st, all units should have sent out offers! Realistically it should only take 2-3 weeks but in case there's a delay, they have until the 31st is January :)

Gotcha! That makes me feel better. Thanks so much! :)

BTW, for you and those interested, Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles opens their new grad program on Monday, December 3rd.

Thanks so much for the link!

Did you interview for SM or RR, btw? :)

For anyone who hasn't heard back yet, don't get discouraged! Even though I haven't receive an email confirming an interview yet, HR was able to tell me that I do have an upcoming interview with RR 8east (med/surg), so if you want answers just give them a call and have them check!

ps: has anyone here interviewed with the same floor already or another med/surg floor? How did it go? Can you share your interview experience please? :)

Thanks so much for the link!

Oh, good luck! I wish you the best. 7W is a nice unit. I interviewed for 6W so I'm right below you! :)

They told me 1-2 weeks! How did you feel about it?! Did it feel short to you as well?

I felt like it was short too, very direct questions. Did they tell you how many they are hiring or if there is another interview?

No, they didn't tell me how many they're hiring! But I think it's only one round of interviews since they mentioned that we'll hear back in a week or two.

Hi Everyone!

Had my interview today. As previously stated, the questions were pretty direct, but also conversational. Ex. Tell me about yourself, handling conflict... to me if felt more about getting to KNOW me, rather than the actual question... but who knows. All in all, it was a beautiful and stressful experience. Kind of like nursing. Haha. Good luck to you all! and BE YOURSELF! :)

Thanks you all for sharing your experience. Was your interview a panel or one-to-one?

Two people, the UD and Asst. UD, who were very welcoming and attentive. Having said that, it was my assessment that they are very nice people in general --- in fact, the whole office is warm and friendly. So if nothing else, take comfort in knowing everyone around you, will be good vibes. When you is your interview?

That's great to know! My interview is next Wednesday.
