Published

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to start a thread for people who applied to UCLA's new grad nurse residency program! Lets keep each other updated!

Hi everyone,

I had my interview today for a med surg floor. It was fairly simple, no clinical questions, just behavioral questions such as tell me about yourself, previous clinical experience, weaknesses, why nursing, why UCLA and they also asked me questions based on what I had on my resume. My unit interviewed 5 people and will only choose one, please keep me in your thoughts!

Thanks so much for sharing! Definitely wishing you well! Did the they say when you'd get an update?

Thank you so much! For my unit, they said the second week of December (specifically around Dec 11) but it varies per unit. When you interview they give you a packet that outlines the dates but so far it's:

11/26-12/12 interviews

12/12-12/21 select finalists

1/31 ALL new grad offers are made

Ahhhh it hasn't even been a whole day and I'm so anxious!!!

Hi! Interviewed on the 27th but wasn't given a packet? I did ask the receptionist at the end of the interview because I saw another interviewee fill out a questionnaire and she mentioned that it's optional. Did anyone else fill this out? Anyone else interview for medsurg on the 27th?

Oh yeah they told me the questionnaire was optional, it had nothing to do with the interview but rather the staff at the Wilshire building. That's so weird that they didn't give you a packet! Maybe they forgot because as I was walking out the lady asked me if she gave me a packet and I said no. May I ask which unit you interviewed for?

I interviewed for the Medical Telemetry unit! Does anyone know how many new grads they are going to hire? There were 9 of us interviewing, I believe.

It varies per unit. My unit is hiring 1 while 8ICU normally hires a good handful so it's really hard to say unless you ask someone from the floor or the UD

I also interviewed for med telemetry. Did they tell you when we should hear back or if there is another round of interviews?

Wow, thanks for the deets! Just to clarify, ALL units are going to give offers on the same date which is 1/31? Or is that just for your unit? Sorry to be a pest.

They told me 1-2 weeks! How did you feel about it?! Did it feel short to you as well?
