UCLA MSN Fall 2014

Published

Hi friends!

Anyone applying to the UCLA MSN-Advanced Practice program for Fall 2014? I applied for the FNP program. I figured we could use this thread to chat and update each other!

Thanks!

Mine is still " no decision has been made".

Specializes in Family Nursing & Psychiatry.

omg, mine still says the same. i hope we retrieve letters soon!

Specializes in Nursing.
My application status just changed to "you should soon be receiving a response directly from your major program regarding a decision on your application" Anyone else saw this response? does this mean decision for me is already made? I'm afraid it is cause that would mean I have an early answer, which is almost always a rejection. Anyone else with this info on their application status page ?

Mine hasn't changed either. But maybe yours just means that they looked at your application and have already made a decision. What program did you apply for?

Specializes in Med-Surg/Ortho, Telemetry.

Mine hasn't changed either. I'm really hoping I get in because my job has become a hostile work environment and I need to get out of there soon.

For the dual masters Acute care Np/CNS, and you?

Specializes in Skilled Nursing, Medical-Surgical Tele.

My decision page has not changed either. Still no decision made. Might go with a distance program instead though as they have responded last week and require me to accept the offer with a deposit by next week. Really wish UCLA would have responded earlier, but I had a feeling this would happen. I think I will be better off with the distance program, but I might have trouble finding my clinical sites and preceptors, but I can always do that in Chicago if worse comes to worse as they have great clinical ties there and it would only have to be for about a year for the clinical hours.

Hope the wait does not extend into April as it seemed like it did for last year's class. Best of luck as always.

Specializes in Hospitalist AGACNP-BC.

Lancermav, which distance program and what degree course are you looking into? Northwestern?

Rush University, FNP, DNP. Northwestern does not have a school of nursing.

FNP. Maybe they looked at the dual applications first so that's why your status has changed. GOOD LUCK TO US ALL

That's too bad with the timing of everything. Good luck to you and wish you the best at the distance program!

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but I got an email from a recruiter yesterday who said it's going to be mid April. So we've got another month... :(

wow that sucks! what do you mean by "recruiter"? someone who actually works at the school? I wonder why it takes so long. The UCLA application was due so much earlier than any of my other applications
