UCLA MSN Fall 2014

Published

Hi friends!

Anyone applying to the UCLA MSN-Advanced Practice program for Fall 2014? I applied for the FNP program. I figured we could use this thread to chat and update each other!

Thanks!

Side note for anybody that needs a physiology course. I started Intro to Physiology at UC Berkeley Extension. It's a continuous enrollment course that begins when you sign up. You have 90 days minimum to complete the course and 180 days maximum.

The course is broken down into ten modules that you have the complete (at the end of each are worksheets, case studies, and mini-research discussions). There are also a few open book quizzes.. I think two or three in total and a proctored final exam. Powerpoints and videos are on the website.

It's a lot of work, but it gives you great flexibility if you prefer an online program. It's more expensive than a few others but I was able to utilize the funding my hospital sets aside for continuous education.

Don't expect to hear from UCLA next week. I was told applications are still in review and hopefully acceptances will be sent out by the "end of March."

Good to know! Thanks for the update. I wasn't expecting to hear about acceptances or denials until end of April.

Has anyone applied to another school and got accepted?

Applied to Duke and got wait listed on Thursday, but everyone else found out the week before last, like Feb. 19.

I just called Mark Covin, University of California, Los Angeles School of Nursing admission officer, today and he said that they have not made any decisions yet. According to him, admission letters will be sent out starting April, 2014. I also checked my application status on UCLA grad division application status website which says that " no decision has been made".

I'm so ANXIOUS to know.

Anyone has anything interest to share ?

He told me by the end of the month. SMH.

Nonetheless, I am super excited and hopeful for a positive reply from UCLA.

I need more distractions. This waiting game is getting old... Any recent news from the admissions personnel?

My application status just changed to "you should soon be receiving a response directly from your major program regarding a decision on your application" Anyone else saw this response? does this mean decision for me is already made? I'm afraid it is cause that would mean I have an early answer, which is almost always a rejection. Anyone else with this info on their application status page ?

I do not have that stated under my decision login. I still have the default response that decisions will be knowin in march/April
