Hi friends!
Anyone applying to the UCLA MSN-Advanced Practice program for Fall 2014? I applied for the FNP program. I figured we could use this thread to chat and update each other!
Thanks!

@passion8 nurse: thank you so much for this info. I have logged-in a couple of times yesterday only to find out decision has not yet been made. And thanks for the advice- yeah, I guess you are right to say this year's timeline should not be compared to last year's. It's just comforting to read posts from last year, hoping the decision would come out sooner rather than later.
If decisions have already been made but we're just waiting on letters, shouldn't it say "you will soon hear from your dept regarding a decision" rather than "to date, no decision has been made on your app"? Seems to me that they haven't actually made decisions yet. I would be surprised if we hear anything before the end of April. Still, the wait is driving me crazy so I'm holding out hope that it will be sooner.
@sunny1230: I wonder how long really is the screening process, bc, I for one, have locked-in my application before Dec. 1, but had a few delays with some of the requirements, such as my TOR. They had given me until Feb. 28 to complete, and I was only able to get it all in on Feb. 21. Hence, my question about the timeframe...
From what I understand, the "decisions" have all been made and there is a physical list of admits. But like I said, there is a smaller team this year who is processing admissions/rejections, and "processing" also includes updating the online status too. Someone has to manually input this info into the online service; it does not just automatically appear when a "decision" is made. When I got into the MECN program, my status online was not updated until long after I sent my letter on intent (to accept). So while this does exist, I am not sure how reliable it it. My first notice of acceptance came in the form of an email, which told me to look for the admissions packet in the mail (which came a couple days later).

Thank you for sharing this info! It's good to know that at least some progress is made with our applications! :)
PS: I would pay so much just to see that list!

Iska2000 I apologize for "encouraging" you to comprehend previous posters' posts re last years decision timeline vs this years timeline on decision notifications.
Yes, you are correct, this forum is meant to serve all the things you've mentioned. However, as passion8 has mentioned, your exact question has been addressed numerous times. Thank you passion8 for taking the time to be resourceful in contacting
the SON and and sharing new information.
On that note, iska2000, I hope you are pleasantly surprised and hear back sooner than what is confirmed to be expected.
