UCLA MSN Fall 2014

Published

Hi friends!

Anyone applying to the UCLA MSN-Advanced Practice program for Fall 2014? I applied for the FNP program. I figured we could use this thread to chat and update each other!

Thanks!

Okay... 1 more month to go then! We can do this!

Mark and Rhonda are the two who are "processing" all the acceptances/rejections for all the programs in the whole SON. Take their words, as they have they best idea of their own time frames/goals. That being said, please everyone don't email/call them constantly for updates. They are very good at responding to inquiries, but it just delays them from getting all our notices, packages, etc done :)

Hi there,

Im another applicant hoping for good news in April lol.

Does anyone know if the Acute NP program can be done part time?

Thanks and good luck to all applicants

None of the ucla graduate programs can be done part time. You must accept into the program knowing that for the next 2 yeas, you will be going to school full time. If accepted, all cohorts start in the fall and continue together for the next 2 years. If you fail a class for example, you cannot make it up the semester after. The class wouldn't even be offered. Each cohort moves as a whole, forward.

This is a bit off topic but no one is responding in my CSU forum so I might as well ask here...

I know a few of you applied to CSULB and CSULA for the FNP program also...I received an email today asking me if I would be interested in an alternate specialty because they received an extraordinarily large volume of applications...did anyone else receive that email? It's just making me more crazy now! I want to find out!!!

What other specialties can you choose from?

I applied to csula...didn't get that email. But when u applied to csula did u list an alternate specialty? Was the email from csula or csulb?

I applied to both. I think I listed Psych as my alternative for CSULA, but honestly I don't remember. The email was from CSULB. They said to choose from Women's Health, Pediatric, or Psych. I emailed them back and said I would consider Women's Health or Psych...I wasn't expecting this but I figured it's better to get into a different specialty than not get in at all...? Anyway, I hope that means decisions will be made soon

Got my acceptance email for CSULB Women's Health NP. Not my first choice, but happy nonetheless. I hope UCLA at least sends emails soon because some other schools will require signed intents by late April/early May!

I read "acceptance" and my heart had a pause. Lol. Congrats. I'm a CSULB alum class of 2012. I love my alma mater. :)

Congrats!!!!!!

Hi everyone! Glad to see schools are finally sending out acceptance emails. For those who applied to CSULB, did you guys ever receive a confirmation email from the school of the nursing that your application was received? Or did you just receive one from the campus?
