Hi friends!
Anyone applying to the UCLA MSN-Advanced Practice program for Fall 2014? I applied for the FNP program. I figured we could use this thread to chat and update each other!
Thanks!

Mark and Rhonda are the two who are "processing" all the acceptances/rejections for all the programs in the whole SON. Take their words, as they have they best idea of their own time frames/goals. That being said, please everyone don't email/call them constantly for updates. They are very good at responding to inquiries, but it just delays them from getting all our notices, packages, etc done :)
None of the ucla graduate programs can be done part time. You must accept into the program knowing that for the next 2 yeas, you will be going to school full time. If accepted, all cohorts start in the fall and continue together for the next 2 years. If you fail a class for example, you cannot make it up the semester after. The class wouldn't even be offered. Each cohort moves as a whole, forward.
This is a bit off topic but no one is responding in my CSU forum so I might as well ask here...
I know a few of you applied to CSULB and CSULA for the FNP program also...I received an email today asking me if I would be interested in an alternate specialty because they received an extraordinarily large volume of applications...did anyone else receive that email? It's just making me more crazy now! I want to find out!!!

What other specialties can you choose from?
I applied to both. I think I listed Psych as my alternative for CSULA, but honestly I don't remember. The email was from CSULB. They said to choose from Women's Health, Pediatric, or Psych. I emailed them back and said I would consider Women's Health or Psych...I wasn't expecting this but I figured it's better to get into a different specialty than not get in at all...? Anyway, I hope that means decisions will be made soon
