UCLA MECN 2021

Published

Hi everyone!

I am planning on applying to UCLA's MECN program for 2021 and since I did not see a thread here yet I wanted to get one going for us to share questions and concerns. Good luck to everyone!

Just got my acceptance letter for another school today and it left me really wishing I had heard back from UCLA already. Fingers crossed in comes soon. Best of luck.

OMG you almost gave me a heart attack reading that first line.

It may not be your first choice, but congratulations on getting accepted!

sammmmmmeeee I almost fell out my seat LOL

Also just read the first few words and almost lost it LOL

We’re all so anxious smh

OMG same! This waiting game is honestly killing me ? I just wish they were able to provide a hard date for decisions!!

OMG - sorry guys didn't mean to make a panic wave in everyone. we are all definitely on a hair trigger at the moment.

I emailed Jeimy last week with an update on my volunteer service and she said she would pass it along to the committee on Friday. So that sounds like it's going to be a little while longer if the committee is still in review.

Thanks for that info - Last years early decisions were the earliest on record. In the past it was closer to March so maybe we should all just try to distract ourselves for a couple of weeks..

Might start a puzzle... LOL

I keep telling myself if I get in I will be thankful and if I don’t get in I will still be thankful because I will end up at the school I am meant to be at . But it would be nice to be a Bruin ? LOL . Yes maybe I’ll find a distraction , shopping perhaps ? LOL

Funny you mention a puzzle because I just finished a 1000 piece puzzle in like 3 days as a means to distract myself LOL (still took breaks every 30 or so minutes to check my email ?‍♀️). But I was talking to my friend about how hard the waiting has been for me and she gave me some suggestions for what to do to make the time pass so I though I would forward it to you all 1. Write yourself a note every day and put it in a jar and read them all when this process is over 2. Get yourself a box of chocolates and eat one everyday as a sort of advent calendar (best one in my opinion) 3. Rewatch one of you fav shows that has a lot of episodes ( I chose New Girl because it’s light hearted and perfect background for doing puzzles LOL)

I've taken up volunteering at my local vaccine super site and I'm taking Pharmacology for pass/fail as a primer because I've heard it is one of the hardest classes in the first time. Definitely keeping my mind busy!
