  1. How do you feel about your chance of acceptance into the UCLA MECN program?

Hello all, I'm preparing to apply to UCLA's Master's Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN) program, and so have decided to start a thread for others that planning to also apply and/or interested.

Taking into consideration that admissions begin September 1, 2017 and end on November 1, 2017, this conversation will hopefully progress from now (the lead up) through the time of notification for acceptance/denial/waitlist (between February and April 2018).

In the meantime, is anyone planning to attend any of the upcoming information sessions?

I completed my application before the system switched over to the new system. All my letters of rec had already been requested and submitted in the old system, and when I called, they informed me that I did not need to re request them in the new system as they should transfer over. My application still has the option to request letters, and there is nothing stating "no decision has been made" like others have commented. Anyone else having this problem?? Is my application not actually complete?! (Very worried now that I made a mistake but not requesting them again in the new system...)

Also that one link someone posted to check the grad app doesn't work with my password. Anyone else having the same problem?

The same thing happened to me. When I started the application I skipped to the LOR section right away to send out the requests. After the whole system switch (meltdown?), I got the same email we all got that I would receive further instructions on how to handle the LORs. I never got the followup email and got worried since friends said they did, turned out it was because I already submitted them all via the old system (like you) AND they received them already. In addition, I then received an email from admissions stating my application was complete. Did you ever get that email? That is what got rid of any anxiety I had if items slipped through the cracks.

Yes I got that email in very late November saying my application complete! I guess just seeing the request still available gives me anxiety. Do you still see that request too? And nothing saying "no decision has been made?"

Ok well I learned how to reply to a specific post so that's good. But no, when I check the link below, it does say "no decision has been made at this time..." If your password does not work, like mine didn't, just click retrieve password and you'll get an email with what you need to check your status.

Best of luck everyone :)

Has anyone dared email RF or MC to ask when decisions are expected to be out for the school of nursing?!?? ;P

Hi guys!

So I emailed RC last week to see if we would get emailed about getting accepted or if it would be through our portal. She didnt answer my question but all she said was, you'll hear back in march. That is the second time she has told me this .

Thanks for posting this and letting us know! Now I feel just a *bit* less worried every time I refresh my email and don't see anything new.

Hi guys!

I emailed RC last week, saying, "I know decisions will be made in March, but will I hear about my decision through email? Or through our portals ." Just wondering how I will hear upon the decisions . She responded "you'll hear back in March"

Yes, she replied to me as well and said we should expect to hear back in mid March. I'm not sure how I'm going to wait that long

I know same here! I still check my email expecting it sooner!!

Im assuming we may have to wait until mid march due to the new system, but I'm hoping we don't have to wait that LONG!! This wait is killing me softly!!
