Hello all, I'm preparing to apply to UCLA's Master's Entry Clinical Nurse (MECN) program, and so have decided to start a thread for others that planning to also apply and/or interested.
Taking into consideration that admissions begin September 1, 2017 and end on November 1, 2017, this conversation will hopefully progress from now (the lead up) through the time of notification for acceptance/denial/waitlist (between February and April 2018).
In the meantime, is anyone planning to attend any of the upcoming information sessions?
@futureERRN I made sure to answer all of the things they said to mention in the Evaluation criteria document that they have online. I don't know if you are still in school but I went to the writing center at my school and had a counselor look it over a few times before turning it in. If you are not in school I would suggest letting old professors proof read it or coworkers if you know anyone who is a good writer. I just turned in my application today. best of luck!
Hi! I'm also applying. I haven't finished my application yet. A few things (in response to comments)
1) I emailed MC and he mentioned there are technical difficulties with the recommendation page, but to rest assured that our application review would not be impacted by this. If you haven't sent the forms yet, I would recommend reaching out to him to see how to get the forms on to folks so they can begin the process of getting your references in.
2) I believe you need to have all of your pre-reqs done BY December 2017 to be eligible for review of your application in this cycle, even if it's in a series.
3) Statement of Purpose is mandatory but the Personal History (optional) is NOT REQUIRED and won't be considered. No sense in doing both if they'll only look at one!
On another note, I'm only able to enter the last 3 employers in the employment section. Is anyone else seeing this?
Really exciting to start to chat with people going through the same stresses of this application and waiting process!

I know right? I have everything ready to turn in except for the SOP. The person I hired to look it over did not do a good job so I'm stressing out a lot on that. Did you guys mention all the points that the reviewers are looking for? I know this is last minute but do you guys know any website that can proofread/edit SOP? Any advice is really appreciated!
