Hey there, I am planning on applying to the UCLA MECN 2016 program and was wondering if anyone else out there was applying as well. Just curious about other applicants and hoping to go through this application process with some other people! Would love any feedback. Thanks :)
Hi everyone,
I recently graduated in December 2015. Can't wait to see what's next! Hopefully we all see one another in September at UCLA!!!! Good luck to everyone! May God have favor over all of our applications! I'm sure everyone has worked hard to get to this point. Let's see if hard work truly pays off!
Decisions??? well.. based on last year's thread... some people received acceptance email around last week of feb.. so who knows whats going to happen this year...
we all just have to wait and see.... I'm pretty sure some of us will get an early admission before financial aid deadline.. only the admission committee knows..
Hello All! I'm interested in getting a head start on studies... I figured Pathophysiology and pharmacology would be the best place to start. Does anyone know what books are currently being used for these courses in the program? I've searched the online book store and found out info on the Pharm book but no details on the pathophys. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
@knenopoulos I am so nervous, yet hopefull about getting into the program. In all honestly it would be a dream come true to get accepted and begin my journey to helping others.
Here are my stats:
Will obtain my BS in Kinesiology in June of this year from Cal Poly SLO, have all A's and 1 B (in statistics) for my prerequisites. Thus far I have a 3.92 cumulative GPA (and plan to maintain it in order graduate with summa cum laude).
unfortunately, I think I might have submitted the wrong version of my statement letter. So who knows what will happen with that lol.

Someone asked for people's stats.
Mine are 4.0 in prereqs
3.7 undergrad
worked for 3 years essentially as a Medical Assistant (not certified) and clinic coordinator
Work with kids with special needs in education and as a caretaker
Those were my stats last year and I had one class pending (physio) and they encouraged me to apply anyway and I didn't even make the wait list. Their feedback was that I needed to talk more about my multicultural diversity and that overall my statement of purpose could have been stronger (I read it again this year and I agree- yikes)
This year I got my CNA, am now volunteering at a hospital, and I applied to a lot more schools.
I 100% don't expect to get into UCLA. All of my friends who went to this program already had a Master's in Public Health from very impressive schools or were doing extensive research at UCLA and had an in there. It's tough to get in for sure. I only applied because I live so close so it would be silly to not try.
