UCLA MECN Fall 2020

Updated:   Published

Hello All!

I'm applying to UCLA's MECN program this year for Fall 2020. Who else is applying? I hope we can all support each other through this process. ?

What are some of the questions you may have about the application process?

I just checked my status online and I saw my rejection letter. Just wanted to let you guys know in case you are still waiting to hear back. You should go check it ?

Aw I’m sorry to hear that ? They really should send out emails so people don’t sit around waiting and wondering. I’m a believer in that everything happens for a reason, and I’m hoping other programs accept you! Sending positive vibes. Best of luck!

Just saw my rejection too ? We are still going to be incredible nurses! Don't lose hope. Ironically UCLA is apparently more difficult to get into than Columbia and UPENN, considering I did get admitted into those programs....

Thank you so much! ❤️ Good luck to you and everyone else as well! We will all end up exactly where we're meant to be! Hoping everyone else receives good news!

Thank you so much! I think the smaller size & lower cost of UCLA’s program just makes it so much more difficult to get in. I wish you the best of luck on your journey. Like you said, we will end up where we are meant to be. ❤️

Congrats to all that did get in! You guys are rockstars!!

Hey guys, I know this is completely idiotic but I am without my computer and simply cannot find how to login from my phone. My sister is trying to look from a computer and can log in for me, but she can’t seem to find the login page either. Can anyone help me navigate pleeeease?

Try this link https://appstatus.grad.ucla.edu/Account/AppStatus.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fAccount%2fLogin.aspx

Unfortunately no. Ugh, I’m going crazy over here and it’s unreal that even my sister can’t find it from her computer. Is it safe to say that I can take this as a rejection? It seems like everyone was already accepted or waitlisted.. ?

Have you heard from Ucla yet

I have not. I did check the grad port and was able to view my rejection letter. I also got a rejection notice from the community college's, where I go currently, ADN program; but apparently they sent out a bunch of bad notices, which could change. That program is a lottery system.

Disappointing to not get in, but I did get into Johns Hopkins direct entry MSN program and have committed to. The good news, no decision for me to make between the two.

Got my rejection by checking the admissions portal :[

Still no correspondence tho

Hi first time posting here but been lurking since day 1 lol. But congrats to everyone who got accepted or is on the waitlist. That's a huge accomplishment!

I got my rejection letter just now so I was wondering if anyone could provide tips/advice to strengthen my application -- especially for those who got accepted their second time applying? Thanks everyone!

I got the email Thursday night for the rejection. The email gave a link to the status page, which had the official letter. This just reinforces why we all should apply to more than one school.

For those who did not get in but still want to try for a direct entry program, I suggest trying Johns Hopkins. It's still not easy to get into, but their class is significantly larger, about one hundred twenty. It is an expensive program and located in Baltimore. They also have spring and fall cohorts. The application is a lot cheaper. They use the NursingCAS system for the application process.
