It's that time of year again! I am planning on applying for the Fall 2019 quarter. The summer 2018 information sessions are now open. Who else is applying ?
Hi! If one desires to become a nurse practitioner after finishing the MECN program, do you know if MECN graduates are given the first consideration when applying to the UCLA's MSN APNP programs? Or will they be viewed equally as other applicants? I am aware that APU and Western give first consideration when their entry-level graduates apply to their advanced practiced programs.

She says that the professors are very supportive and try to do what they can to help their students to succeed. Also she mentioned that sometimes someone can be put on a 3 year plan rather than a 2 year plan if they end up failing a couple of classes. The professors really want to give their students as much opportunity as possible. Overall, I think if we go in with the mindset of giving it our all and wanting to succeed we will be just fine. ?
I know a handful of current MECNs and last years class. The new rule for grades was changed to 74% or above in classes while maintaining a 3.0 GPA (emphasis on BOTH having to be met). It’s a new rule as of fall 2018 by the academic curriculum committee, it used to be 84%. I think it's great they did that because it gives everyone after the fall 2018 class a better fighting chance to pass ?

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a financial aid estimate for the program sooner? I know the financial aid package doesn't really show until August, but I'm deciding between the MECN program and pursuing an ABSN instead and the cost factor really comes into play in this decision.

Did anyone apply for the GOFP (Fellowship)? If so, do you know how it works if you are awarded?
* If any MECN student reading this was a fellow, feel free to chime in! **
