UCLA MECN Fall 2014?

Hi- Is anyone applying to UCLA's MECN program for next fall?

I hope it's as a whole in regards to reading the applications but it's hard to say. That's a lot of applications for just two people and it would be hard to read absolutely everything. I'm interested to know what the key points are as they read through.

I went to UCLA for undergrad and have talked to one of the admissions counselors before and he said that they usually look at applications as a whole so they would review everything all at once. I'm guessing one person evaluates one application.

Has anyone gotten any updates recently from the SON? For example, will be notified the same as in past years or, because it is much later this year, will we receive notification via e-mail?

I hope it's through email because I'll be out of town the last week of March and my mailbox isn't that secure. If rejections aren't posted online by Monday (because then I'll assume decisions have been made and acceptances/waitlists will go out that week), I was going to email and ask the SON how/when we would be notified, just in case.

First year MECN here. Acceptances and wait listed are usually mailed. Rejections are posted online. At least that has been the usual protocol in past years. Good luck!

i got an e-mail from UCLA and totally thought i was gonna get rejected since those are supposedly done only online. Turns out it was just an e-mail about enrolling for summer session. what a troll.
