UCLA MECN Fall 2011

I saw that the MECN application for UCLA has been posted today. Is anyone applying to the Fall 2011 program?? I haven't found a thread going on yet...Maybe we can share our questions/concerns regarding the application process here.

Does anyone know if the transcripts have to be received by Nov 1st as well or are they supposed to be sent after you submit the application?

You should submit them as soon as you can . Im not sure if they absolutely have to be received by the 1st. They may allow a grace period to send in transcripts since you are able to upload an unofficial one online.

So what does everyone's GPA look? Mine is not very high (about 3.3 for the last 60 units), so you all can imagine how nervous I am!!! =/

Can anyone help me on listing the courses that are in progress or the ones we plan to take in spring 2011??? I have listed them in the prerequisites tab but left the grades and units blank, and listed the expected dates of completion. Will this work? Does anyone know the right way to do this? Please let me know!

In the personal statement it says to discuss volunteer or employment experiences in a health care setting...but it doesn't say they are required for applying

I am debating about applying to that program... but it is really far away from me probably a good hour and half drive!

that is a far drive. application is due nov 1- and you need 3 references...so you should apply soon haha

sam, i'm trying keeping my resume to 1 page but that means i only list education, voluteer work, and my most recent employment of 3 years.

and thanks for the advice on the transcripts. i had them expedited so they will make it there on time. i guess i was just concerned that they would end up lost in some miscellaneous file because i hadn't officially submitted the app yet, but now i think they will get there 1 or 2 days before/after i submit my app so that should be ok.

Do you guys have all your pre-reqs done or are you still completing them? I'm finishing up with Anatomy & Micro this semester. I'm hoping they don't actually start reviewing the applications until late January/early Feb so I have time to get my final grades in!
