UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014

Published

Hello!

The application window starts January 1st, which is a couple weeks away from now. I am excited to apply though and see what happens. Who else is planning to apply here?

I am planning on applying to both the accelerated and traditional pathways.

Clinicals are fun but exhausting! I have not yet experienced a 12 hour clinical... But the 8/9 hour long clinicals went be quick for me! So I can't imagine the 12 hours being too bad. But they are exhausting... All you will wanna do after is sleep lol. As for studying.. The first semester does not have many exams. But I did have to do homework everyday. I did a little something every day and my time management was just right. For this semester... It is a lot of exams and I will begin studying a week for an exam if I could... But we sometimes have 2 exams in one week, or 4 exams in 2 weeks and it is hard to balance studying. So sometimes I can only study the day before.. So those are 10 hour studying days lol it all depends on how you can manage. I also work a double shift every Saturday.. So my Saturdays are shot (they would be a big help to have off but I have to work)

Thank you all so much for your insight! It makes it so real and exciting to hear what to expect :)

Hi Guys; i too have applied to UCF- both basic and accelerated. My undergraduate GPA is 3.8 and pre-reqs 4.0; TEAS - 94.7 and i'm keeping my fingers crossed. I also applied to USF which will be my first choice if I get in. Does anybody have an idea WHEN we may expect to hear from them? I know it may be different this year because there's no interview but last year I think they got their invites for interview on first Friday of March. So would it be too optimistic to expect to get results this coming friday? Once we get results how much time do we have to accept or decline? Thanks for comments.

Hey Aga- Welcome & wow! Incredible stats!! That is the highest teas I've ever heard of and your gpa is great too so you shouldn't worry! No idea when we will hear but I'd be shocked if it was next week! I'd guess 6 weeks at the earliest which is about the 15th or so, but no idea really. I haven't heard anything about how long you have to accept or decline either and was wondering the same thing.

Thank you for a comment. Yeah, well, I was thinking that the 7th March (for accelerated) would be a wishful thinking... but then the following week is a spring break... (?) so i suppose that means nothing's happening for a week... until 21st March.

Well, actually seems like the spring break is the first week of March... so definitely no news this Friday... 15th then?!

I'm hoping in the next two weeks!! Good luck ☺️

Hello All,

What are your thoughts about applying to UCF/Valencia concurrent program for this fall? The application window is April 1- 30. I really didn't want to go this route but am nervous about not being accepted into UCF's basic program. I suppose I could apply as a back up plan if we do not receive an answer by April 1.

Any opinions?

I would say definitely apply for any other programs you are interested in. I plan on applying for the concurrent program through Seminole as a second choice, and really, it's a good idea in case you don't get in. At least there's a chance you'll get in elsewhere. Better to be safe than sorry! ;)

As to an answer, 6-8 weeks from Feb. 15th (Deadline for Basic BSN application) is March 29th to April 12th. I would love to get an answer sooner, but I don't expect one until then. I just hope time will fly by, and really so far it has. School is keeping me busy. Good luck to all the other new applicants who have posted since I've last been on here.

Yeah, I'm applying to the accelerated, basic and concurrent at SSC! it's best to apply to as many as possible I think, so you give yourself a shot at getting in to at least one. and I agree, time is actually going by pretty quickly surprisingly! Doesn't change the fact that we all want to know now though! lol

Okay! Sounds like a good idea. I also was thinking the more options the better.

Thanks :-)

Does anyone know how much time we have to accept /deny once we have received notification of being admitted?
