Hello!
The application window starts January 1st, which is a couple weeks away from now. I am excited to apply though and see what happens. Who else is planning to apply here?
I am planning on applying to both the accelerated and traditional pathways.
Honestly, the results of our admittance will be released whenever the college's decide to. There's no sure way of knowing the exact date we should be notified, otherwise we would have been given a date by now of when to expect results. Every year is different, sure we may find out tomorrow or it'll be for several more weeks. No one knows when they'll decide to tell us. And there's no point in speculating or trying to figure out the certain date. Honestly, trying to figure it out is just a waste of time. All we can do is check our emails daily and await a decision. I'm expecting to find out at the end of the month, anything before then will be nice however.
If by April we haven't been notified, thats when people will be asking the departments. Trying to pick students for their nursing program takes a long time. All we can do is be patient.
Well I guess I'm not the only one wondering when they'll send out responses, though I'm not sure how good of a chance I've got anyways. Unfortunately my overall GPA is an abysmal 2.78, and I had to get a waiver in order to actually apply. I talked to a few of the advisers, and they said that since overall GPA is the least weighted aspect of the application, and I did well on everything else (4.0 Pre-Req, 91.8 on the TEAS) I still had a decent shot of getting in. I was really hoping for a higher TEAS, and would have had it if it weren't for the grammatical portion (got a 73%, whereas I got 95.2% on Reading Comp, 100% on Math, and 93.5% on science).
Unfortunately for me, I know UCF doesn't actually look at the breakdown of the TEAS and instead just takes the overall score so the fact quantitatively analyzing the english language isn't really applicable to being a good nurse doesn't matter.
It is what is, good luck to everyone and here's to hoping you get in!
Kind of a weird question, but does anyone know anything about CCNE vs. NLNAC accreditation? I googled it and learned that NLNAC is older and that CCNE is relatively new and focuses more on the advanced or higher nursing degrees. I am wondering if companies have a preference for one over the other. Does anyone have any insight?
Thanks!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to do the waiver - my UCF calculated GPA is a 2.95
