UCF Traditional and Accelerated BSN-2014

Published

Hello!

The application window starts January 1st, which is a couple weeks away from now. I am excited to apply though and see what happens. Who else is planning to apply here?

I am planning on applying to both the accelerated and traditional pathways.

Hey everyone. I've been keeping up with this thread for a while, but I just decided I would make an account so I could share some information I received. I am an applicant for the accelerated program and I got a call from UCF Nursing today and the woman told me they were actively working on making their decisions today, so we should find out soon! (yay!) I only got a call because they didn't have my fall 2013 final grades, and they thought they emailed me about it a month ago, but it turns out that they got my email address wrong, so I literally had to send them a screenshot of my grades today because they were trying to get everything wrapped up. Weird, I know. But whatever works I guess! Shouldn't be too much longer!!

Awesome!! I'm an applicant for accelerated as well so thanks for sharing! Hope it's soon!

Does anyone know if you still have to do an orientation if you did undergrad there?

Question: Does UCF ABSN track have students do clinicals their first semester?

I know there's community nursing and long term. Community makes you take a bus ride around town seeing what's available...and long term you go to a nursing home. So there are practical applications if you want to call them clinicals.

I thought you did but not positive on that one.

Ahhh is anyone else dying for an accelerated decision?? I wish they would hurry up!! Was hoping for last week but commeee on!

I'm also waiting to hear back for the accelerated program!! Does anyone know if you're allowed to also apply for the UCF/SSC concurrent program even though I have a bachelors degree? I'm just trying to come up with a plan B in case I don't get in...

You are definitely allowed to apply to multiple programs! I'm applying for both accelerated and regular :)

Yes, UCF is terribly slow this year. USF have released their results 10 days after the application deadline... and they have hundreds of essays to read. I wonder what's the hold-up with UCF.

Hi all. I called the CON today to ask if they had an updates on when we might hear since I know most other schools have already sent out invites with deadlines approaching. ... Unfortunately they wouldn't tell me any concrete info/ update and said they thought it would take the full 8 weeks/april 1st. :/ so frustrating.

Hi guys,

I'm from the UNF thread but have been keeping an eye on you because I think UCF is literally almost one of the last schools to release their decisions for summer! I'm wait-listed at UNF so I'm interested in how you all decide.

At the same time, what happens to those of you who have to tell schools an answer before April 1st if UCF won't release until after April 1st?? That's crazy to me. I could have sworn all the schools meet up to work on their decision windows together. Did UCF go rogue?? :nailbiting:

Good luck to all of you!

Thank you for passing on the information.
