UCF SUMMER 2015 Accelerated Nursing Program

Published

Hey guys!

I just applied for the summer 2015 accelerated nursing program at UCF.

I wanted to create this thread so people can see the application pool stats and just have somewhere to talk and vent during the "waiting game."

As for me...I'm a little on the low side sadly...

TEAS- 87.3%

Overall GPA: 3.467

Pre-req GPA: 3.65

Good luck!

I, unfortunately, will be waiting for the 4/10 session because of work. Is anyone planning on attending that one? Don't feel out of place, sarahlynn1783, it's specifically for transfer students so hopefully it will be a more mature crowd! I cannot wait to meet everyone!

Best of luck bmoreucf! I remember you from the UNF thread. I really hope I will be seeing you this summer at UCF!

Thanks so much! Yeah I'm like borderline depressed over here lol. I only have UNF and UCF as my choices and I was waitlisted by both. I talked to one of the advisors and she said the spot I'm in right now on the UCF waitlist doesn't look too well... *sigh*

Are we supposed to go to a general orientation for new students or just the nursing orientation??

Lol I thought the same thing! I'm trying to find out if we have to go to the new student one as well as the nursing one. If so I can only go on Friday. I hope it's not too late for me to sign up :/

bmoreucf, which advisor did you talk to about your position on the waitlist?

Also, don't worry if UCF and UNF didnt work out. This is my 2nd year applying to nursing schools, and i got denied all of last year. So keep your head up! Just explore your options and the right nursing school will come to you :)

Thanks :-) yeah I'll keep my head up. Good luck to you btw! And I don't want to mention the advisor just in case, but there are only 2 of them so just go on the UCF nursing website for their emails, maybe they'll let you know what your odds are.

I was accepted but will be attending another program for anyone on the wait list. Congrats everyone and good luck in the future!!!

I think it's a requirement if you are a new UCF transfer student. I found it under admissions process link for second degree towards the bottom on the CoN website. I did get a call from the nursing advisor, however, that I would be done early. She said we are going to register for classes at the nursing orientation. I registered early for the general transfer because I didn't know how fast orientation spots would go. I know there are not too many general orientation dates between now and when we start classes. I think there are only three before summer session.

Thank you! I went online last night to check and all the spots for Friday are taken so I have to go on April 10th. I wish some people from on here were going that day so some of us could meet! I wonder when the nursing orientation will be.

Hey everyone! I was accepted to the program as well! I already attend UCF, though and don't have to go to the transfer orientation. I still can't wait to meet everyone!

Does anyone know when we will be receiving the e-mail with any additional information?

Do you all think we should be studying before the program... I'm brushing up on A&P but that's about it. Anyone else have any thoughts

I spoke to Mrs. Washam (I might have misspelled her name ) she said the email with all the additional info will go out next week. She said to focus on gathering our immunizations BLS from American Heart Association and financial aid. Just a heads up, there is a form that second degree students have to complete in order to receive financial aid. You have to meet with someone from the nursing department because part of the form must be filled out by the school of nursing.

The form is on UCF's financial aid website.
