Hello,
My name is Yuan and I am applying for UCF 2017 Accelerated Nursing Program. I noticed that there was a thread every year on this forum for applicants to share their status and progress after application. So this is what this thread is for.
As for me, I have
Teas: 85.3% ( I might take it again at the beginning of January)
Overall GPA :3.56 ( it's not great:( )
Prerequisite GPA: 4.0
Good luck!
I got this email too! I'm hoping I get in. For those of us waitlisted, did everyone get this same email from Jessica Simmons? I thought for sure I was going to get denied because I could not make the open house. I should have applied for the scholarships offered
For those accepted, when do you have to let the CON know by?

The Open House had NO impact on admission decisions.
For those accepted, we have to RSVP our spot by March 14th.
Edit: The wonderful thing about UCF (or at least it seems) nursing is that it seems like there are PLENTY of scholarships to apply to once the program starts. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your admission!
I also received this message. Did anyone who got waitlisted not receive this separate email? Good luck on getting in btw!
I received the the email but it said the person in your spot did not get accepted... so looking at other options. Do you mind me asking you guys who were waitlisted what your stats were?
I got in as well! Must decide between UF jax and UCF. Those in the same situation - how are you making the decision?
Well I live in Orlando, and I did go up to Gainesville this past weekend to visit. I was shocked that it was more rural that I expected. I do think I like Orlando more, even though I HATEEEEE the amound of people here and traffic. From the research I have done so far, UF nursing program and UF in general is a better school. BUT its a Nursing license based degree. I could be wrong, but I dont think people are going to be looking at what school we went to when we graduate. They are going to care if we have our BSN and if our license is good and on job experience. UF does have a hospital on-site and the college of nursing does look nice. I wish UCF Nursing facility was better and we didnt have to drive around to clinicals. It's a hard decision, but for me it will probably come down to if I want to move out of Orlando right now or not (and also break my lease i should add). Oh by the way I realized you were accepted to Jax. I think i would have preferred Jax, but applied to Gainesville.

I actually prefer the Gainesville location since my husband and I currently live here. Maybe you and I could talk to Mr. Wynn and ask him to swap us !
So at this point, either way we have to move. Orlando is closer to our families and it makes more sense for us financially. UF is obviously a great school so that is a pull. I need to make the decision soon but it is definitely hard. I think in the end it is important to remember we are going to get a great education and be nurses by the end of next year! So either way, its a win win!

This is a link to 2016 NCLEX pass rates in FL by program. Those of you looking to compare potential programs might find this tool to be helpful/put some rumors to rest.
I'm fully aware that there is SO much more to a school than NCLEX pass, but we all know that passing the test is the end goal!
