Experienced CRNA...ask me anything
Thanks for all the info you've provided, I've learned a lot through your thread=) !! Can you quickly touch on some of the different subspecialties within CRNA/ what the most desirable picks are and why/ how it works with being floated to other OR's etc (for example, if you are an ortho crna, can you get floated to an OR doing cardiac or neuro cases?) Thank you again for your time!!

Duke ABSN Fall 2017
Congrats to all of you who got in or waitlisted (still something to be proud of!) How are you all planning to pay for tuition though? As much as I'd like to accept my spot I don't know how it would be possible to pay for tuition considering you only get $7500 in student loans per semester yet tuition is $21,000 per semester... Am I missing something here?

UCF 2017 Accelerated Nursing Program
Hey Kat, Community college credits are fine for prereqs. I took most of mine at Seminole state college or Daytona state college and got accepted into ucf accelerated program. If you want into ucf's program next year, they look at 4 categories only, and a computer program cycles through the applicants to decide who gets in (no human aspect at all). The four categories are overall cumulative GPA, prereq science GPA, prereq non science GPA, and TEAS. To have a good chance of acceptance they recommend at least being above the average for 3 categories. If above average in all four you will get in for sure. Three is still great though. I was above in only 2 but was waitlisted and then accepted thankfully. One other note is that I was told by an advisor at ucf that the science prereq GPA and TEAS are the two heaviest weighted out of the four, and those were the two I was above the average for. Old acceptance statistics can be found by a simple Google search If you have any more questions feel free to pm me anytime! Good luck! Droot

UCF Accelerated Summer 2016
Question for this cohort.. Were FAFSA loans enough to cover tuition and living expenses each semester alone? Did you have to take out additional loans to get by? Thanks, Droot

Duke ABSN Fall 2017
I think the number of invites for duke days would be a better representation of the chances of getting accepted but she didn't share that number. Anyways, best of luck!

Duke ABSN Fall 2017
Hey yal, I attended duke days yesterday and just wanted to say it was amazing. The facility and simulation labs are top quality and they did a good job of selling their commitment and dedication to you. They also recently earned the rating of number one nursing school in America and are very proud of that as they should be. A few things I wanted to mention were around 65 of us were there yesterday and Nora said around 30 will be at next week's duke day. Not sure how many were invited but that's how many are attending. Also she said 73 will be accepted into the program. Lastly, the faculty was talking to us as if we were definitely going to get accepted or waitlisted, though they didn't say it directly. For those of you that weren't invited I wouldn't get too down because the price of the program will probably drive a lot of accepted students to other schools (like me most likely, if I'm accepted), which is probably why they didn't deny everyone that couldn't fit into duke days. Oh, also they said acceptances will go out first week of April, and we will have one month from that day to accept or deny our seat. Hope this fills some of you in, and good luck, Dylan

Applying for Duke ABSN fall 2016
I know this is a year later, but I was wondering if some of you who were accepted would mind sharing your stats (gpa, prereq gpa's) from the time of your application? I'm currently waiting to hear back for fall 2017 admissions and can't seem to find anyone's stats online. Also, how are you liking the program??? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for that statistic, just keeping my fingers crossed at this point. Don't understand why they won't tell me my place in the waitlist though. Congrats to all of you who did get accepted though
