UCF 2017 Accelerated Nursing Program

Hi there!

I'm also applying to the 2nd degree BSN currently as I already have a BA. This will be a full on second career, so I want to get going and get finished as soon as I can since I won't be working while in school. I can't really afford to take 2 years off.

Here is where I'm sitting:

Overall GPA: 3.75

Science PreReq - 4.0

Non-Science PreReq - 4.0

TEAS: 86.7

I'm getting excited and already applied - now just waiting for all of my little green check boxes and an acceptance email

Thanks for replying! You have a very good stat! I will be surprised if you don't get in. I am so anxious right now about my low GPA. I graduated from a university in China and I never thought GPA was a such big deal until I got to my junior year and it was too late. If I couldn't get in this year, I will need to take a bunch of classes to boost my GPA up and retake the Teas again.

I had the same issue to some extent- my first year in college wasn't great as far as GPA, and it is especially hard to raise a GPA once you have a degree because each A only brings it up a little bit. With a prereq GPA of 4.0 I think you have a good chance. From what I can tell this is weighted the most, followed by cum GPA and then TEAS. Best of luck to you!

I'm applying to UCF, but didn't realize there was a fingerprinting requirement (DUH!). I have filled out the waiver and am waiting to hear back on the website. Does anyone have any idea how long it might take me to hear back (as to how to get my fingerprints done)? I'm feeling so foolish for waiting this long. uuugh.

Stats:

Pre req (science and non-science): 4.0

Cumulative GPA: 3.64

TEAS: 90

I did my fingerprint yesterday at a UPS store close to my house. If I remember it correctly, you should be asked when and which UPS store you want to get your fingerprints done. You will also be asked to make an appointment and just walked in the UPS store you chose with the appointment letter. They only just need the ID number on the appointment letter and photo ID. It took me about 10 minutes to get the fingerprints done. Once you are are done with fingerprints, you will just log back into your account and put the date that the fingerprints were taken. I saw it updated on my application the second day. So you should have plenty time.

Do you guys have all your green check marks yet? Some of mine are still yellow and I'm worrying if that'll affect my application after it closes

Thanks for replying. I just checked my application and my middle 3 are still all pending verification. What's your stats if you don't mind me asking?

Okay good to know I'm not the only one! And yeah I don't mind you asking my TEAS is 90.7, cumulative gpa is 3.75 and pre-req gpa is 3.9

If you look at the bottom of the application screen, it says the following:

"Updates to your application dashboard are individually made after a College of Nursing admissions specialist has reviewed your application. Updates are not immediate, and applications may be reviewed after the application deadline. Thank you for your patience.

*Note: In your CertifiedProfile account at www.certifiedbackground.com, item #4 (Florida FDLE fingerprints – Doan Summary) will remain incomplete” until final decisions have been made and students are enrolled."

Pending items will not disqualify you from what I understand. I still have several items pending, as I haven't completed my fingerprinting yet.

Also, I would like to add that I sent my TEAS profile last week and it is still a yellow checkmark. Maybe it takes longer because I didn't take the TEAS at UCF. My background/fingerprints are still red.

I wouldn't worry about it. Worst case, e-mail them. I had a question a few weeks back and someone got back to me in a day.
