UCF 2017 Accelerated Nursing Program

Published

Hello,

My name is Yuan and I am applying for UCF 2017 Accelerated Nursing Program. I noticed that there was a thread every year on this forum for applicants to share their status and progress after application. So this is what this thread is for.

As for me, I have

Teas: 85.3% ( I might take it again at the beginning of January)

Overall GPA :3.56 ( it's not great:( )

Prerequisite GPA: 4.0

Good luck!

Also, I would like to add that I sent my TEAS profile last week and it is still a yellow checkmark. Maybe it takes longer because I didn't take the TEAS at UCF. My background/fingerprints are still red.

I wouldn't worry about it. Worst case, e-mail them. I had a question a few weeks back and someone got back to me in a day.

Specializes in Psychiatry.

For the record, I had everything submitted on Day 1 and I'm still showing pending for pre-reqs, TEAS scores received, and minimum TEA score met. I'm not sure what the delay is. I took it at UCF, and TEA scores are sent to the College of Nursing every Friday I believe.

Good to know we're all in the same place right now I submitted everything on the 1st as well

UCF receives a large volume of applications, there is no need to be concerned about seeing pending status for these items.

Hi,

I'm glad I found this for 2017. I've also applied for the 2nd Degree BSN at UCF.

Looking forward to following along with this thread.

Stats:

Science Pre-req's - 4.0

Non-Science Pre-req's - 4.0

Overall GPA - 3.65

TEAS - 85

Good luck, everyone.

Is anyone else's prerequisites still pending verification? Everything else on my application is green

Yes, my prerequisites are still pending verification.

Thank you for responding !

I also applied for the Summer 2017 Accelerated BSN.

My overall undergraduate GPA is low (3.2) but my overall GPA is a 3.8. I submitted the 3.2 because it stated "undergraduate" which hurt me because I earned a 4.0 in my masters degree. My prerequisite GPA is a 3.9. My TEAS score is a 95.3.

I'm hoping to get in...but I feel like my chances are slim. I wish they cared about extra-curriculars or my graduate GPA. I am a high school science teacher hoping to make a career change.

Any advice or words of encouragement (or constructive criticism) are welcome! Good luck to everyone!

Sammy712,

It's my first time applying, so I am not really sure how they make the decision but I think you actually have a good chance. You are a lot above average 3 out of 4 items. I didn't see people posted any stats from 2016 summer program but I feel the application pool is much more competitive last year(based on the statistics from the UCF webiste) and this year in comparison to 2015.

Does anybody apply to another school? I also applied to UNF and it would be nice to get to know each other before the interview( hopefully I will get an interview invitation. Fingers crossed)

Does anyone know the exact start date of the program?

Monday, May 15th is the start of Summer C term. However, there is a mandatory orientation that will happen before that date.
