Hello,
My name is Yuan and I am applying for UCF 2017 Accelerated Nursing Program. I noticed that there was a thread every year on this forum for applicants to share their status and progress after application. So this is what this thread is for.
As for me, I have
Teas: 85.3% ( I might take it again at the beginning of January)
Overall GPA :3.56 ( it's not great:( )
Prerequisite GPA: 4.0
Good luck!
Does UF provide any scholarship assistance? I was going to apply to UM, but I realized that there is no aid and the program is way too expensive. I do wish people talked more about financing a second bachelor's degree. I know for grad school, you can basically take out as many loans as you need. I'm almost considering applying for PA programs as I have all the prerequisites for it.
Well on UF nursing BSN program it states that you can only apply for financial aid through school of nursing after completing 2 semesters. I haven't really looked at Undergrad financial aid, as I know I won't qualify for grants, the only hope is some scholarship. And loans are gonna be the same no matter what school I go to. The cost of the program at UF is actually basically exactly the same as UCF.
When you said you were denied the scholarship, did you actually get an email saying you didn't get it? I didn't get anything. But I know it says they will give responses by end of month, so I am hoping maybe they will still interview me.
Yes this was the email:
Thank you for your application for the Helene Fuld Health Trust Scholarship for Second Degree Nursing Students. The College of Nursing Scholarship Committee received a large number of competitive applicants. Determining the recipient of the Helene Fuld Health Trust Scholarship is always a difficult decision and is based on many factors.
I regret to inform you that you were not selected for an interview at this time. Unfortunately, the College of Nursing Scholarship Committee does not have the resources available at this time to provide a scholarship to each worthy applicant. Admission decisions for the Second Degree BSN program will be emailed in mid-March.
We wish you the best of luck!
If you haven't heard anything then I'd think you're still in the running! Good luck, and make sure to check your spam folders!
