UCF 2010-2011 accelerated nursing program

Published

I am applying and have requested all my transcripts, I did decent on the Teas test with an 86. Undergrad gpa 3.45, pre req 4.0

I went to the info session last month it was a bit of a pain :angryfire to sit through just to get the application passcode because of all the redundant you should do some research if your serious questions lol.

I am excited and hope to get in to move forward with my life goals of community health nursing.

I am also applying to UNF's program too. Their website is really detailed with everything I ever wanted to know. One of the few schools that have their stuff together.

Wow. Somehow that makes me even more nervous. But, hopefully they stick to their schedule and Thursday is the day.

Good luck everyone!

I hope to hear everyone's wonderful news on Thursday! :D

Oh Wow! That makes me more nervous too! Good to know. Thanks for the info.

Is the wait killing anyone else??

Yes, I hate waiting ! Hopefully we will know Thursday. It's going to feel like a lifetime away :D.

2 more days, 2 more days, 2 more days. we can make it. haha.

Thank goodness I came across this thread! I have been going crazy for the last few weeks waiting on a reply - if I only have to wait until Thursday I'll be thrilled!

I also visited one of the counselors there a few weeks ago to confirm all my paperwork was in order. He told me that they received 201 applications for the accelerated program and then they had to go through them all and verify the information (probably why it takes so long). Anyways, good luck everyone!

That's really good! At the information session they said that they typically get 300 applications for the accelerated program and they were expecting more this year. 60 places out of 201 applications makes me feel a lot better!

Specializes in ICU.

Oh my 201 is low from what I expected which is good news. Maybe people are going a less expensive route because you cannot have a job.

Does anyone know if you actually are not allowed to have a job while in the program or if its just discouraged?

1 more day... :-)

Specializes in ICU.

More than likely discouraged,I would not even attempt to hold a job especially the first semester or fall.

There is a BSN handbook on the UCF nursing site. It states that "employment should be limited" so you can have a job, but it is discouraged. I've heard that it's almost impossible to have a job while in this program because of the time commitment.
