Hey guys! I wanted to start this thread for those of us that have applied to the UC Davis RN residency program for the August and October 2017 start dates! This is so exciting! Let's keep each other updated and support each other along the way!

Hey guys! I'm from California, but went to school on the east coast. Any east coasters on this thread?
Also, I'm a little terrified. Did anyone not specify what unit they wanted? I couldn't decide between Labor and Delivery and the ICU, so I kind of left it up in the air. . . my application still says routed, so I'm hoping I'm not completely out of the running.

Small hospitals refer to "the ICU," large facilities have various specialty ICUs.

Hello. I went to school on the east coast and am currently waiting for my ATT. I applied for an ICU spot. Fingers crossed!

Just wondering where on the application everyone put their unit of choice? I don't recall seeing any selection options or directions so I was very general in my cover letter, pretty much just stating i was interested in anything in pediatrics.

UCDMC generally will forward your application based on where you precepted. This is my experience talking with nurse recruitment.

Hey everyone! I am from the east coast and applied with hopes of an ICU position. I have not heard anything yet at all but hope everyone will start hearing soon!

Has anyone else heard back from L&D or Postpartum?

LDNurseOB1: A few of my friends interviewed for L&D. However, I don't know if they are still interviewing.
For UCD, I believe that they hire new grads in postpartum. Once you have more experience, they train you in L&D.
The nurses rotate between postpartum and L&D.
