  1. Hi there! Unfortunately, at this time I do not know, but as soon as I get some information I'll let you and others know on this thread. I can't speak for how many spaces there will be for other units, but I'll let you know for PICU specifically.
  2. OP here. I'm super ecstatic that I got accepted into PICU!!!! :woot: Don't give up hope guys. I had applied to UCLA, CHLA, Rady's Children, and Loma Linda Children's (where I did my practicum and where I went to school) and either didn't hear back or got rejected after interviewing. And my senior year of nursing school, I was an alternate that summer to Mayo Clinic's and LLU's externship programs. I prepped very hard for this interview as it was my dream job and hospital. I came prepared with multiple portfolios, memorized the hospital's mission statement and values, researched as much info as I could about the unit, and had gotten my ACLS and PALS before the interview. Keep persevering fellow new grads! I believe in you all! If anyone wants to talk to me, please feel free to PM me.
  3. Yes, that was what I heard from her also.
  4. I did not get accepted to PICU unfortunately. It seems like they're really picky about who they are selecting for interviewsand job offers. I was an internal applicant who did my practicum on PICU and despite an interview, did not get the position. Best of luck to everyone else that is applying, I know that job searching right now is difficult as a new grad.
  5. Congrats! I'm doing my interview next Wednesday at 9. How about you?
  6. Hey Shelly, where are you thinking of working the most in terms of which hospital? I've seen you in almost all the new grad programs haha. I had my interview with Rady's already, but CHOC is my top choice so it's between CHOC, Rady, and LLU for me.
  7. Thanks for the update! I applied to PICU also. Good luck everyone!
  8. No, I am an internal applicant who worked there for a year as a PCA as well as did my practicum on PICU as I attended school at LLU. They usually take multiple people per unit.
  9. I saw you also applied for the UCLA program, when do you interview for that and for which unit? I don't think I'm going to get into that program as it's already late April.
  10. Congratulations! I got an interview also with PICU.
  11. I applied to PICU and Peds as I just completed my senior practicum at a PICU.
  12. Hi all! I was wondering who else is applying to the CHOC New Grad program for the June 2017 cohort. I've been checking the website and nothing has opened up. Anyhow, let's keep each other updated here and good luck to all my fellow new grads!
  13. Alternate also. Good luck everyone else! Hopefully by April there will be more spots available for alternates
