UC Davis Nurse Residency Program - Fall 2021

Published

Hello,

Applications are open for the fall start of the Nurse Residency at UC Davis. I wanted to start the forum to discuss what unit(s) applicants are interested in, where are you from, etc. I submitted my application already and if anyone has any questions regarding the process, I'd be happy to help.

Good Luck to all,

Amanda.

Did anyone else finish their interviews yet? I had one last week and the anticipation is killing me ?

Are there any other threads out there about this round of applications?

Hi all! I was out of the country last week! I didn’t get any voicemails, but I’m wondering if they reached out about interviews for ED med surg, or float pool?

I interviewed for the float pool last week and got the phone call to interview the week before that! I think each unit is different so they may still be reaching out for interviews

What kind of questions were asked?

I had over twenty behavioral questions , one on sepsis, and why I wanted to work there!!

I had an interview almost two weeks ago. The waiting is so difficult! Did they give you a timeline on when you’d hear back?

How much time did it take for you to get a call from when you noticed you were routed? I’ve been routed for a bit but haven’t gotten a call. Did you precept in their NICU?

Hi everyone,

I finished my RN in May 2020 and my BSN in January. My status changed to routed I’m guessing about two weeks ago (I honestly forgot to check my status for months since I’ve been working another job—not sure yet if this disqualifies me). I received a voicemail last Monday night from the unit secretary to schedule an interview on the unit that I precepted. I immediately called back to schedule for Thursday of that week. You’ll need a portfolio and can expect a panel interview. After interviewing, you’ll need 5 professional references to send in a survey questionnaire about you. Selections are based on unit availability/hiring needs, where students precepted or externed, and how many points you score in your interview + reference surveys.

Hopefully this info helps, good luck to you all!! ?

Was your interview in person? Mine is a zoom interview scheduled for this Friday.

I noticed that my application was routed on 6/15. I got a call for an interview on 6/25. And they said they hold interviews every Friday so my interview is on 7/2. I precepted in the NICU at sutter roseville.
