Hello,
Applications are open for the fall start of the Nurse Residency at UC Davis. I wanted to start the forum to discuss what unit(s) applicants are interested in, where are you from, etc. I submitted my application already and if anyone has any questions regarding the process, I'd be happy to help.
Good Luck to all,
Amanda.
My status is still under "routed for further consideration." I did specify ICU and I used words in my cover letter that are discussed on their home page and what UC Davis stands for and what they have accomplished. I have not been contacted for an interview though. But so far, we know that one person has scheduled an interview and that is for pediatrics. I don't think anyone should lose hope just yet. ❤️

Agreed! From everything I've read it seems like all the units work independently of one another with their selection process so there definitely still hope. In last years thread there were weeks in between status changes and interviews. Right now I'm just nervous that I'll miss the phone call. ?

SAMEEEE. Even when I get calls with funky zip codes I'm all could this be them?!?!! ?
Hi everyone,
I finished my RN in May 2020 and my BSN in January. My status changed to routed I’m guessing about two weeks ago (I honestly forgot to check my status for months since I’ve been working another job—not sure yet if this disqualifies me). I received a voicemail last Monday night from the unit secretary to schedule an interview on the unit that I precepted. I immediately called back to schedule for Thursday of that week. You’ll need a portfolio and can expect a panel interview. After interviewing, you’ll need 5 professional references to send in a survey questionnaire about you. Selections are based on unit availability/hiring needs, where students precepted or externed, and how many points you score in your interview + reference surveys.
Hopefully this info helps, good luck to you all!! ?

Hi! Which unit did you interview for? Have you heard back yet?
Hey all, I reached out to someone in HR about updating my application to reflect the location of my senior preceptorship (which I didn't know at the time of applying)... someone responded and said that those who are offered positions for the AUGUST cohort have to accept by July 16th, and those offered for the OCTOBER cohort have to accept by September 10th. So don't lose hope! ?

Nvm, my phone was being weird and the voicemail popped up. Got an interview with NICU!

Hi! Did they let you update your application?

I don't know ? all I know is that you have to use keywords from the job description or I heard some people pay to have people edit their resumes and cover letters and I think they insert certain words...I know someone that used that kind of service and they were offered an interview.
