UC Davis Nurse Residency Program - Fall 2021

Hello,

Applications are open for the fall start of the Nurse Residency at UC Davis. I wanted to start the forum to discuss what unit(s) applicants are interested in, where are you from, etc. I submitted my application already and if anyone has any questions regarding the process, I'd be happy to help.

Hi all! I don’t have a license yet and I have not been routed. I also used keywords from the application in my cover letter and resume… I’m dying over here ?? Hoping with every fiber of my being that it’s just taking different times based on department. This is my dream job and I don’t want to apply elsewhere ?

I have my RN license but I think people who graduated in May probably got more clinical hours? I had mine reduced due to being in nursing school during the pandemic. Rough times for us December grads!

Thank you! I’m not quite sure. I didn’t specify in my cover letter, but I’m doing my preceptorship in CVICU.

I don't think that matters because I know someone in the cohort behind me who was a December grad got hired on in this residency program for the Spring cohort with limited clinical hours. I think its just slow moving and the process is partial to the unit. Hope you get some news soon ❤️

Hi there! I specified NICU as my first choice and PICU/peds as second choice and was either routed today or yesterday! There is still hope!
