UC Davis Nurse Residency Program - Fall 2021

Hello,

Applications are open for the fall start of the Nurse Residency at UC Davis. I wanted to start the forum to discuss what unit(s) applicants are interested in, where are you from, etc. I submitted my application already and if anyone has any questions regarding the process, I'd be happy to help.

Awesome! I am interested in ICU, pretty much any med surg floor, and the OR program (had great clinical experiences there). Little across the board there. But, overall interest in adult health. From Sacramento.

Hello everyone! I am applying as well. I am hoping for OR or ED. Did you all specify multiple units in your cover letters?

Yes, I did specify the units I am interested in my cover letter ? . I wonder how many applicants they have received.

I left mine more general and didn't mention any units in particular! initially wanted to keep it more open to the units they see me most fit for, but wishing I had specified heh

Hi all! I applied and left my cover letter general, but I highlighted my ED experience. I went to school out of state but I am from the Sacramento area.

Hi everyone! I applied as well. I am open to any unit but am interested in ICU, med surg and even considering the OR! I did not specify the unit I wanted in my cover letter either but noted that my senior preceptorship is in the ICU. Looking forward to talking with you all about the interview process!

Yay! Same for me ? Are you looking to be apart of the August of October Cohort? Hopefully we can go through the program together! Best of luck to you.

Hi Amanda, I'm Liza, thank you for starting this thread, I was stalking the previous cohort's thread to see what to expect for the interview process haha.

I am actually hoping to be in the October cohort. I graduate in June and planning to take NCLEX in July. I have some trips planned including a bachelorette in September but if August is all that is available, I will most definitely make it work ?

Hi! I also applied to the new grad program. I am hoping to start in August. I would love something in pediatrics but I would take any opportunity at UC Davis. What is the status of your applications? Mine moved from applied to under review :)
