UBC 2022 Nursing

Published

Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing.  Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.

how is everyone uploading their transcripts? do we just get them mailed to our home, scan, then upload? is this the only way we can give UBC our transcripts? I had emailed admissions about this but they never replied.

That's what I did; however, the uploaded transcripts are considered unofficial.

I contacted admissions with a similar question. They got back to me saying "If you are admitted to UBC, we will then request that you arrange for official copies of your transcripts to be sent directly to UBC."

Not sure if that helps. To me it sounds like admissions decisions are based on uploaded (unofficial) transcripts, and only if admitted we have to submit official transcripts. I'm not sure if that's correct though.

Did you get a reply meanwhile?

For the supplemental application, I usually get flagged when I am way over the character count, my personal statement has 3540 characters ( with spaces) and I'm not being flagged. I'm wondering is the character count without spaces?

I went into the virtual drop-in session today to ask an advisor about uploading transcripts! She said your institution can directly mail your official transcript to UBC if you can't have it sent electronically. I graduated from SFU so I just requested SFU to directly mail my official transcript to UBC.

Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for sharing!

I guess I'll just ask all my schools to mail them directly to UBC then. I was so hesitant about it, because my transcripts from Germany will cost me about 230 CAD. So I wanted to make sure I'm not misunderstanding anything.

No problem! The advisor emphasized that the official transcript must be directly mailed from your INSTITUTION, not yourself. Just make a request to your institution to send it to UBC.

This site has all the information on official transcript including the UBC mailing address that you need when making your request. Good luck!

Hi,

is anyone here an aspiring Nurse Practitioner?

please call admissions my first thought is that might need them translated, but I'm Canadian so I don't know, make sure you get confirmation by email no anything they tell you, and best of luck sister

Thanks for your input! That's very thoughtful of you ? I already clarified that (per email). Good luck to you as well ?

is there a word limit to 'list of additional learning and accomplishments' section in the supplemental application? I see that all the other sections have a word limit except for this one.
