Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing. Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.

"To be eligible for admission into third year nursing, applicants need at least 48 non-nursing, university transferable credits. However, the GPA is calculated on the most recent completed 30 transferable credits up to December of the year of application, including any failed and repeated courses. In cases where counting back 30 credits lands in the middle of an academic term, the academic average of that term will be used for the remaining required credits to reach the total of 30."

Hey! does this mean that none of the courses we take next term (term 2) will be counted in the GPA they calculate for most recent 30 credits? so it would be just this term's courses, and any previous terms until it adds to 30 credits? I am unsure about this!

Yes you are correct. So any courses that are completed by December 31 2021 will be counted towards the GPA calculation. Courses completed after January 1 2022 will not be included in the GPA calculation, but you can use the next term to complete any pre-reqs you need for admission.
Hi! Not sure if anyone would know the answer to this - I am eligible to apply as I have 18 non-nursing credits, but am in first year nursing this year at another school (in Ontario). Is my GPA calculated only on non-nursing credits, or would they consider my nursing courses in my last 30 credits?

It doesn't have to science or nursing course, you need 48 credits or a degree, and A HAP course! I believe today is the deadline for next year for applications...
Hi All,
My name is Julia and it’s my first time applying to the BSN program at UBC.
I was born and raised in Germany where I also completed my degree in music therapy. After graduating, I worked in long-term care and palliative care for a couple of years before immigrating to Canada.
Our school system in Germany works a bit differently, so maybe someone can clarify the following:
Yesterday I uploaded my unofficial transcripts to the Student Service Centre. Do I now have to wait until the Admissions Office reviews them and tells me to submit my official transcripts, or can I start submitting them right away? I assume I have to wait?
Thank you and good luck to everyone!

Not sure if it's a typo but you need 48 non-nursing, university transferable credits to apply for the program. As long as the courses are transferable between universities (not just UBC), it should be included in the GPA calculation.

I'm pretty sure for admissions office to classify your application as completed is if you send them your official transcript. As far as I'm concerned your unofficial transcript should more or less be identical to your official transcript (with the exception of the stamp and such). So as long as your unofficial transcript has all the information needed (like registered courses and prereqs), it should be okay to send your official transcript prior the deadline. Don't quote me on this though, should contact admissions!

As far as I'm concerned, you just have to make sure the nursing courses are university transferable to be included in GPA calculation, but you won't get transfer credit for the nursing courses.
Contact an admissions advisor to confirm though!
