Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing. Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.

Hi! I was wondering if you can share why you wanted to switch from BCIT nursing to UBC nursing. Is it because of the shorter program length? Or were there other reasons that led you to choose UBC over BCIT?
I'm currently deciding between the two schools and would love to hear any opinions!

I got in, wish I could share my stats but we weren’t given them in the acceptance letters. I know I scored 4th quartile in Casper, my GPA was below competitive average, and I feel that my supplemental was very strong.
This was my first application to UBC, and I only applied to UBC. Needless to say I’m feeling very grateful that my gambling paid off.

I improved my application by boosting my GPA taking 4 extra courses at Langara and studying for the CASPer using BEMO and ended up getting 4th quartile. I also had experience working as a COVID vaccinator and worked as a medical office assistant. excited to meet you all!!
So do you think using BEMO was worth it? I’m wondering if I should pay for some tutoring for the Casper for next year.

I read some of their examples a few days before and got 4th quartile. It gave a good idea of how to structure your answers and what to look for. I can send a copy if you'd like!

Please send! That would be a huge help for the next intake! [email protected]

I thought so, too! But Casper is a little bit funny, I found out it's the opposite on their and BeMo websites:
"...if you scored in the 4th quartile, it means that you scored higher than at least 75% of your peers who took the test at the same time as you. Correspondingly, if you scored in the 1st quartile, you scored lower than 75% of your peers; if you scored in the 2nd quartile, you scored higher than at least 25% of your peers but less than 50% of your peers; and if you scored in the 3rd quartile, you scored higher than at least 50% of your peers and less than 25% of your peers."

I just got an email saying I'm 13th on the waitlist so let's hope by September I'll be in
The email I received said we can't know our position on the waitlist, we just find out once we get in or not. Over the next few months when people get in off the waitlist do you mind sharing here so I can sort of keep track of the spots that are being admitted?? Thanks!
You have a very strong chance of being accepted in 2-3 weeks. The waiting list moves pretty quickly between spots #1-20

this year was my second time applying to nursing school but my first time applying to UBC (last year I was rejected or didn't get off the waitlist everywhere I applied). I'm in 3rd year now and worked tirelessly to make my application what it is now. While I'm proud I definitely can resonate with the heartbreak of those deep in waitlist or who received refusals (I've received refusals from other schools in this round as well) so please feel free to reach out to talk about anything related to applications. I'm always happy to help others improve their apps as well.
