Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing. Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.
Hi everyone,
Thought I should share my results.
Grades - 3 (GPA approximately 3.8)
Supplemental - 1
Casper - 3
AL-23
I believe it was the supplemental application that made a difference in my application. I have a MSc from UBC. In terms of volunteering, I did not have healthcare experience. However, I have worked with the homeless population in Vancouver. I also spent two years in the military (shift work). As for Casper, I messed up because I am not good at typing. Unfortunately, due to life decisions (finances and age), I have decided not to pursue nursing anymore. So AL-24, you are now Al-23 (unofficially). I hope this info helps. Best of luck to all applicants. Don't give up hope ?
In the email, I was told that I was Al #35. Supplemental-3 (healthcare volunteering and caregiving experience)
Grades-1 (88.6%)
casper-4 (slow typer T.T and my answers are most likely not that impressive)
Based on previous years, around 35 students from waitlist got in, I hope I get in this year…???

It’s so interesting how they score people because I applied with a 96% avg in my last 30 credits but got a 2 in grades but I’m also #30 on waitlist
here’s to hoping we both find out soon!

Same.. I feel like they put a lot of weight on grades this time as well? I saw some people with lower ranking on supplemental application and CASPER have higher waitlist number than me ?♀️

Weird, I was accepted with 82% average but I had top quartile for Casper and I think my supplemental was pretty strong

IDK. I have around the same average as you (~83) and also scored in the top quartile for CASPER. However, I don't have as much professional work or volunteer experience as I just finished my 2nd year at UBC and also COVID so I couldn't really do much for the past 2 years. I am waitlisted at #39 which is neither good or bad based on previous results? I mean they added extra seats this year so I'll stay hopeful ☺️

I’m so sorry to hear this! That’s crazy how close the rankings can be and it be the decision of waitlist or rejection I had almost identical scores but I’m on the waitlist in a mid position
wishing you all the best, what’s meant to be will be keep your head up ?

We can’t, not unless people post on here, those who got accepted probably have until June 7th so it won’t move for a while
