UBC 2022 Nursing

Published

Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing.  Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.

Congrats to everyone who got accepted today:) all the best to everyone

I just got an email saying I'm 13th on the waitlist so let's hope by September I'll be in

The email I received said we can't know our position on the waitlist, we just find out once we get in or not. Over the next few months when people get in off the waitlist do you mind sharing here so I can sort of keep track of the spots that are being admitted?? Thanks!

I got in ?

congrats to everyone who got an offer! For anyone who gets a rejection letter , I just want to send all my love. I got rejected by many nursing schools in the previous years (including UBC), so I really know how it feels. Just think of today as day one of the next application cycle. You now have an advantage of being more familiar with the process. Good luck and keep working hard! ?  For anyone who wants to know any application tips or have any doubts about the process, don't be shy to message. All the best to everyone! Can't wait to meet you all in September!

Seconding this. I was rejected or failed to get off the waitlist for every school I applied to last year. Sending my love and feel free to ask anything.

Thank you and same to you! I applied to UofT as well. I don't have an offer there yet but I'm not expecting one because they don't usually admit people without a full undergrad (less than 1% of all their admissions ever have been 3rd years like me). Either way I wanted mac more so I'm super happy. Total clinical hours is approx the same (mac does more hours during consolidation than ubc) but I love that UBC starts placements earlier (week 3/4 as opposed to 2nd semester) but moving far away definitely comes with challenges. I also love the child and childbearing courses and placements UBC offers that you can still get...but without guarantee, at mac. What made UBC your first choice (I know you didn't apply to mac but I'm still curious about when compared to uoft for example).

One random side point: does anyone know why UBC is the only school...basically in the country that I've seen so far, that doesn't make you take pathophysiology?

I'm also curious about the pathophysiology, but maybe it's included in the program.
Side note: If I got in out East, I would totally go there. Living costs in BC are crazy.

Congrats to everyone! I haven't received any emails yet ? Still hopeful

What were your quartiles for the casper/supp/grades if you don’t mind me asking?

I'm waitlisted #39. I don't think I'll be able to make it ? congrats to those who got in. Anyone has data on how many people got in from the waitlist in previous years?

So I'm a little devastated here with being #78 on the waitlist. I scored in the #1 quartile of both Supplemental and Casper, but #4 on the Admission Average Rank. I did just fine in Uni though, getting mostly B's and A's, can anyone let me know how they find the average that gets compared to everyone else - is it the last 30 semester hours or something that are compared, or the entirety of your secondary education?

Right how about prior to that as well? I mean we got extra seats this year so should I remain hopeful?
