UBC 2022 Nursing

Published

Hey guys! I just wanted to start this post for anyone applying for the 2022 cycle for UBC nursing.  Just wondering where everyone is coming from and their experiences.

Anyone else’s stress levels through the roof hahaha I’m gonna give myself a heart attack

LOL same! only 3 days left ?

So nervous....?

Does anyone know when will be the latest one could receive acceptance for fall 2022 (e.g., say if one's on the waitlist)?

I saw some people offered a spot in July and August last year!

Oh geez!!  I guess it also depends if people withdraw their application (like accept somewhere else etc), then more spots might open up later.  Meanwhile our lives are on hold... ?

Hi guys!

I’m also waiting with fingers crossed this Friday brings good news!

im wondering if anyone knows what the type of learning is currently with COVID. I know most programs are back to normal at full capacity at UBC. I heard that the nursing program could be a blended type still, with lots being able to do from home online and then come in for practical learning.  Does anyone have any idea how the 2022 cohort will run?
I’m wondering if there’s any way I’ll be able to continue to work part time 3 days per week while completing the program.

thanks so much for any insight!

good luck to everyone!!

I saw someone being accepted in early September! ?

Do they only send offers tomorrow (hopefully) or Monday? And the rest will be updates on the alternative list/waitlist?

Good luck everyone! Wishing the best for all of us!

Hi! I’m in the program right now (started in September) and for our first term our classes were in-person majority of the time (occasional classes were online) and labs were also in-person. In second term, our classes were completely online but labs were still in-person however we only had lab once every 2 weeks or so (total of only 4-5 labs, for the pediatrics/maternity rotation at least). This term (which started Monday), we are back to in-person again! I would assume your classes would be completely in-person like us come September (assuming things with Covid do not become worse). I was only able to work once a week in term 1 (and likely the same for this term) and twice a week in term 2 (when classes were online). Most people in my cohort find working once a week is doable but anything more can be tough, however I do know people who work at least twice a week. The previous cohort recommended us to only work once a week or not work at all but to each their own!

Good luck to everyone waiting to hear back and hopefully you find out soon (I think you’ll be finding out tomorrow) ❤️
