hi friends!
Is anyone else losing it checking SSC 20 times a day? Please put me out of my misery UBC!
Has anyone gotten any word yet? I called UBC admissions and they said that they are doing their best to get it out by April 30th but I am (foolishly) hoping it will be earlier

Oh WOW!... by April 30? I wasn’t expecting to hear from them until next week. Reading comments from previous years it seemed like we would hear the first week of May. But we might possibly hear this week?? That’s amazing. Fingers crossed!

Her exact words were "the admissions team typically tries to get answers out to applicants by April 30th and although things are a bit behind this year they are trying to honour that

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Hopefully we will get a response soon! I'm super nervous!

Is anybody else worried (if we get accepted) that we won't have as much clinical hours as previous cohorts due to COVID-19? I heard that the current nursing students are all taking classes online now and clinicals are cancelled. With the way things are looking, there's a high chance of online classes come September. Does anybody have any experience with deferring admission by 1 year? Or should I not be worried at all because UBC Nursing will ensure that we meet our learning goals?

Hello, my first post and I am also an applicant. I have heard from BCIT that they are pushing back everyone by 1 semester, so nothing is happening for April 2020. I would rather wait for a coordinated response because I don't know if this will be going away completely (of course I would hope, I want to take the Summer off without anxiety).

Hi! first time writing on this forum and I am getting anxious with my application and I really hope I get accepted. However, after reading some people's stat here, I feel like my profile is not competitive enough ?

I am completing my bachelor's degree in May and I applied with 79% (which seems weak compared to everyone on here but also my degree consisted lot of Microbiology and CAPS courses). My volunteer experience just includes my time at a care home and just lot of leadership roles I took at UBC (like being a president of a club etc.). Also I think my CASPer didn't go that great

What would be my chances of getting in? If anyone that applied last year or have any knowledge of previous stat, please let me know! that would be great ?

Relax! ☺️ Everyone desires to get in but we will all know our fates soon.

Hey! I applied with the same average and similar experience (I worked as a PSW) and in the same boat with you fretting about CASPer/getting in. From reading the last 2 years’ forums & the stats posted by UBC, I believe the accepted average falls around 80-82% each year. Hopefully this means there was a range of grades from 70-90! I’m not too sure what their cutoff is though. UBC is one of the schools who look holistically so I’m sure we’ll both have a fair shot ?

This is super relatable! I'm also really anxious about my application. My average is around a 78%. I'm also older (turning 30 this year) so I feel like I don't have a lot of time to apply again if I don't get in this year. One thing that is giving me comfort is realizing that nursing is a journey of life-long learning. This is the beginning of a decades-long career! So even if some of us don't get in, there are still plenty of opportunities to go to UBC or other schools for Masters degrees, certificates, fellowships, research opportunities, etc. I dunno, thinking about the big picture is the only thing keeping me calm right now.

My point. If I don’t get in I have decided to go do my Masters. Lets keep out fingers crossed and hope for the best!

Awe I totally know how you feel, and this wait isn't helping!
Please don't go down the same rabbit hole I went down, but if you look through the 2019 version of this forum you'll see that the applicants (and those that got in) came from a wide variety of backgrounds... so don't give up hope!

WOW! hearing tomorrow would be so good for my (our) anxiety! I emailed them last week and they told me within the first week or two of May, I really hope we actually get to hear on the 30th!! My heart beats so fast every time I get an email that I get lightheaded, would love for that to stop sooner rather than later!

Good luck everyone, I’m looking forward to reading everyone’s (hopefully) good news here! ?

The countdown is officially on! I want to say good luck to every applicant. Remember that regardless of acceptance or rejection we’ve all put in a lot of hard work to get here and for that alone we should be proud. I’m grateful to be a part of such a great group.
